I don't think that is depression at all... that it is more along the lines of envy, and jealousy! You have some associated that having material wealth is what makes a person who they are, and you need to reorder your thinking process where that is concerned... some of the best people in the world have been/ and still are dirt poor... it isn't what you have, it's what you do with what you got... it's about the heart and soul within... and when you die, can you take those things with you? I doubt anyone is going to be seeing any U-hauls in the afterlife!! Just quit wishing for what everyone else has, think about what you do have, be thankful for it and enjoy it... develop who you are as a person, help others that need it, offer something to the world that is within YOU... you'll feel better, and be alot richer than the people who have all that pricey high tech stuff!

Have a Great Day.

Is there a reason you are on benefits? In a way peoiple will say to you if you worked you could also have the same?!

I work full time, have no children and cannot afford my own house! The more money i earn the more that I pay to taxes and to support people on benefits, who where i live have Sky TV and all the modern things that i cannot afford. So for me even being emplyeed i still feel the same, i think it must be natural to want what you can't have. Another point though is that life is not just about what you have and how modern or cool it is is it?

A lot of people feel the same way which is why advertising works. No spiritual leader ever said material things would bring you happiness. See a professional about your depression and look up this web site www.recovery-inc.org It is a wonderful organization for emotional and anger issues.

I know exactly what you mean, I used to get really jealous and depressed when I saw how much stuff other people have that I just couldn't afford, especially cars. But I just got a car a couple of days ago, and let me assure you that I am no happier for it, it changes nothing except that I don't have to walk. Please try not to let it get it you, material wealth is really worth nothing. As long as you have people that love you, that's all that REALLY matters.

Not everybody has all the things they want out of life and to tell you the truth I wish my husband and I could go off to an island and forget about all the bills and electronics in this world cause its just going to get worse.

I was poor once. Then rich and had it all. I wasn't happy until I lost everything, got poor again, and have no bills!!! I have a roof, clothing, food -the basics to survive....And that's all I need material wise. I got closer to the God of my understanding and life couldn't be better. Good luck, and find a God of your understanding.....

why are you worried about material things?! you're worried about nonsense stuff that you're putting your health in jeopardy? NOT EVERYONE IN THIS PLANET HAVE ALL THE WEALTH. people are starving and dying in africa. there's war in iraq and civilians are dying. the economy is bad. third world countries are still suffering from poverty. so why in the hell are you worried about hd tvs and all that shiit?? you make me freakin' sick.

The key is wanting what you have, not getting what you want.
