He was called a "Christian dog" and was accused of polluting the glass. Bystanders called the beating a (good deed that would help them in heaven). Is this how Allah and his followers shows love & mercy ? Is this what the peaceful religion of Islam is all about?

Well, it's not a hate crime thats for sure. Hate crimes can only occur when a priviledged white conservative commits a crime against anyone under the wing of liberal America.
Have Americans forgotten that actions speak louder than words?
On a daily basis, the muslim world shares it's contempt and hatred for non-muslims. They burn flags, attack non-muslims, terrorize the entire world.
However, liberal America refuses to see this because a select few muslims, who have something to gain from American passivism, tell us something contrary to the entire muslim world. islam is a religion of peace and seeks harmony with other societies and cultures.

Get used to it. Islam is not a beautiful merciful religion. It like Christianity was formed by the sword not the plow and good will.
Islamic law calls for a muslim to kill an infidel to gain entry into heaven. Islamic men are among the most cowardly on earth, hiding behind women and children in battle.
Islam is a disgrace to religion nothing will cure her beyond removing it's people fiorm its bondage,.

I am not at all surprised I was told before I went that christians are not alowed to use the same cups as muslims even in net cafes they are refused water if they do not take there own cup

A black man in Georgia or Alabama or Virginia is beaten for drinking water from a public fountain. Is this part of the mercy of Christianity?

It is unfortunate.
It does not change my belief that we should love all people. When Jesus was crucified, He said, "Father, forgive them". This should be our attitude toward those who hurt us. I expect that I will have hate directed at me for following Jesus. That's life. It's difficult to forgive sometimes, but we should anyway.
