Why do you choose to worship the creation of God (rocks, trees, animals, humans...etc) rather than the God Himself? What makes you stick to your idol worshipping religion, and not to convert?
P.S God here refers to the Creator of the Universe, not to Jesus (peace be upon him), not to Holy Ghost, neither to Mother Mary.

In this question The Creator and the creations are two different things. So please answer accordingly, don't tell me rock is god. People even make a statue themselves and worship it, how about that? In history, there were people who made their idols from bread and dates, and when they got hungry they ate them.
The question is why do you worship idols?

An idol is referred to as a false god. This would be seperate from the other gods mentioned in the bible, obviously (you know the "You shall have no other gods before me"...interesting how back then they could worship other gods, just not as much as they worship jehovah). I don't believe anyone intentionally worships a false god, so I'd have to say idolatry only exists if you're a member one faith and intentionally worship another religions diety. I've never heard of that happening...so I'd have to say your question makes no sense.

I am from a religion of the book and I have trouble following their thoughts as well.
But I always tell people who ask me, that if someone can show me a religion where the followers don't ever transgress and there is no need of jails and police, then I will convert to that religion in a hair's breadth.
In the mean time, to me at least it is all rather like going to the petrol pumps.
There is only one supreme being, no matter what name we give him. We choose the religion that suits our needs, social mores and the culture we are brought up in.
If we live out life as the very best human being we can be, we have no need to fear having chosen the wrong one.
And unlike us,idol worshipers as you would call them, can at least see their form of God. They would probably ask how we can worship something we cannot even imagine....Life is full of these conundrums.

Well, first of all, most Christians (for example) no more worship icons or crosses than Muslims worship the black stone in Mecca, or the Koran.
However, faiths like Hinduism (and some mystical schools of other religions) view the universe as a manifestation of God. In other words, the cosmos isn't something God constructed but something God is doing.
So when you see God somewhere, you are right. God is everywhere (although you might of course only be pretending to see God).

I worship God. But do have an argument. There are three persons in God... They are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. The Son is Jesus Christ. so your question does refer to all three.... Because each is God together in one... Just part of God is watching from all over, His Son came to earth to show people the way... and the Holy Ghost comes to strengthen souls. You can't leave any part of the Blessed Trinity out!

I agree with what Kwel has said. The black stone in the Kabba is of the same shape as the Shiva Lingam which Hindus worship…a black circular shaped stone, signifying that God is formless and has neither a beginning nor an end. Can you tell me of any place or anything in this world where God is not present? God is present in all of his creation, in all people, in all animals and plants, in everything, animate or inanimate. That’s why when Hindus greet each other; they say “Namaste”, meaning “I bow to the Divinity within you.” How would you feel if someone desecrated the Kabba? You would feel insulted because it is sacred to you. According to the Rig Veda, God is one but called by different names. True Hindus know that all religions lead to one God. As a Hindu I can tell you that when I see any religion being insulted, it hurts me. If I see the Kabba desecrated it will hurt me also. For Hindus, murtis (Statues of Deities) are symbols representing God. They are the signpost leading to God who is a Divine Spirit within our hearts and all around us. They are not the final destination itself. Just a piece of interesting information…murtis are consecrated before they are worshipped, prayers are done to invoke the spirit of God into them. On television I heard it mentioned that after a murti is consecrated, it has been scientifically proven, by analyzing the molecules within it, that there is a significant increase in the energy within the murti. Maybe you don’t know, but a few years ago many murtis around the world were literally drinking milk. Not just murtis but pictures also. When a spoon of milk was put near the mouth of the murti or picture, it slowly disappeared. No hidden contraptions, the murtis consumed more milk than their size could hold. If you still doubt me, let me tell you I personally witnessed it. My family and I fed one of my Grandmother’s murtis milk. It was a miracle. As I remember it now tears are coming to my eyes. We are all children of one God and we pray to the same God but in different ways. No need for conversion.

If we are to Believe God is almighty and is a Spirit, then we must worship him in spirit and truch as well. No carving or painting or molded items are needed for anything. Thats because to use them in prayer to get closer to God is not needed. God is all we need and can hear us with out all these idols. I agree.

Idols are symbols of the great people. Great people are always remembered. I used to go to my grand fathers burial place. And never forget to take flowers and cigarettes. The edi0ts are still worshiping idols , and gathering near them to know what they idol ( the person ) in it has offered us. Most of the time there is a stupid priest or a old fart is telling the stupid edi0ts - don't do this , don't do that....
Any edi0t doesn't need to go to any place to worship to their god or whatever . If there is GOD - he will come to everyone individually.
There are stupid edi0ts who go to a certain place to pray 5 times a day.
There are more stupid edi0ts who goes to a cross on Friday.
this world is full of stupid edi0ts like you.

Why do so many Christians look to an ancient book to answer their questions about nature and living in the modern world, when they should just ask the earth itself (through science) and live in the modern world?

The 1 True God Is Father, Son(Jesus Christ)& Holy Spirit.
He Was, Is, & Ever Shall Be.
And the Holiest Person who ever lived,(after Christ)is the Blessed Virgin Mary, not Muhammed, as Muslims may think!!
