It's wonderful that you're so secure in your faith :-)
"All men are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord stands forever."
For me, the bible is a good translated book filled with inspiration and hope. If you noticed, the words above are written in English and modern English at that. I'm not sure if you've ever gone to Babel Fish and translated a passage from one language to another and then back but often, something is lost in translation.
Here is the passage from Peter translated to simple Chinese and then back to English.
"all people are likely the grass, and possesses their glory is likely the domain flower; The grass withers and the flower forever to fall, only your excellency standpoint word. "
The differences are quite startling.
A friend of mine who worked for 9 years as a translator at the U.N. said that they would routinely "clean up" grammatical errors and syntax problems and rarely were the remarks translated exactly as they were said.
I love the bible but as a questioning person, I find it difficult to resolve the many contradictions. The complete disconnect between beliefs in the old and new testaments and the fact that it is a book written by men who were interpreting an exciting and difficult time. For me, it's possible to respect the bible and endeavor to live by the teachings of Christ without believing the bible is God's word untarnished by the hand of man.
I have no interest in convincing you of that fact though. I think everyone should be allowed to believe what they wish to believe.

Do you truly lack the intelligence to know that the Bible was written by men? Men who are not with out error and prdjudice?
DO you realize that the Bible you worship today is different than the original Bible that was written? It has been translated and modified hundreds of times over thousands of years.
So which Bible are you referring to.
Do you nodd in agreement when someone quotes the Bible and says slaves should obey their masters?
Should we all have your understanding of what the Bible means.
Seriously, grow up

God is the end result of a failed search for truth by a very shallow mind, provided that any search was made at all instead of swallowing the pile of delusional bilge that was spoon fed to you as a child and getting truth from a bible is like trying to squeeze custard out of a weasel's butt.

You ignorance about the Bible and the origins of the many tales therein is profound and second only to your self-righteous attitude - which you apparently do not realize, nor do you care, is one of the seven deadly sins. You haven't the grace to be ashamed of the mockery you make of faith. What a pity.

it also says in the bible that god is murderous, jelous, angry, creates evil. it says god killed thousands and thousands in the flood, that he killed pursuers of moses, that he had a lady stoned for blasphemy, that he killed 42 youths with 2 bears because they called elisha baldy, he gave samson strength to kill 1000 philistines. it says in the bible god commanded david to number the israelites and it says in another book that satan tempted david to number the israelites (so do they not know whos doing what?) your bible claims gods grace/mercy/love/forgivness yet it talks of murder (samson and many others), incest (lot), adultry (david)....

Ah I see
So stoning is an okay punishment
Raping virgins on your enemies side is fine and dandy
Slavery? Superduper!
And this whole flooding thing....whats the deal with there being no physical evidence of world wide flood. How come the Egyptians managed to not notice they'd all been drowned?
Your bible is full of bullsh!t from start to finish.

It's so sad that we have so many people going to hell.
And we can't do anything about it.
Messiah is the English translation of Mashiach, a Hebrew word meaning Anointed One. We get Christ from the Greek word Xristos. Together they are Jesus Christ. Meaning "The Eternal Existent, Saving and Anointed One." If he can't help them, I guess no-one can.

This kind of so-called 'question' offends me. I am offended by stupidity, willful ignorance and self delusion... which pretty much sums up the Abrahamic death cults of desert monotheism (Judaism, Christianity, Islam).
It offends me to know that three-quarters of the population of the USA is infected with some sort of insidious mental virus that leads them to the insane certainty that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of a bunch of ignorant Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders represent some kind of cosmic 'TRUTH' about fundamental aspects of existence and reality.
It offends me to know that so many people dwell in a delusional reality in which a 6,000 year-old Earth is seperated from a 6,000 year-old Heaven by a solid 'firmament' structure (the sky).
I am offended by the fact that these people believe that they inhabit a magical universe, which they share with talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys, a shepherd staff that turns into an asp, demons chased out of people and into pigs, friendly spirits, evil spirits, walking on water, multiplying loaves and fishes, food falling from the sky, conception by a ghost, people raised from the dead, the sun stopping in its tracks, parting seas, people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky), world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain, creating people from a dust bunny and a rib, a magical tree of knowledge, god speaking from a burning bush... and ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker.
In a sane world, anybody running around spouting ANY of that crap, would be locked up in the State Farm for the Funny. Apparently, though, mass insanity seems to convey some sort of free pass for the loony.
It offends me to know that in our society, irrational, deluded people who ACTUALLY BELIEVE such nonsense is TRUE are permitted to vote, hold public office, procreate, and shape the minds trusting, vulnerable children.
You dare to suggest that people who DON'T believe all of that ludicrous crap need help?
Get a grip.

So...
"If you don't believe in the Bible, here's what the Bible says..."
If I don't believe in the Bible, why should I give a flying rat's a$$ what the Bible says about itself?
Here.
"This is J.P.'s Bible. It is perfectly correct. He is allowed to kill anyone he wants. Anyone who says otherwise is going to hell. Anyone but him who kills will go to hell. And J.P.'s Bible is correct, 100%!"
So, now, prove to me that my Bible is incorrect. And if you try, you're going to Hell. Hahaha!
