Most of the usual viruses, like cold and flu, ordinarily have symptoms like that right in the beginning but then - even if the fever stays for a while - that initial thing with dizziness seems to go away (at least in my experience, maybe that's just me).

It could be anything. The fever would seem to point to an infection, but it could be a bacterial infection as well as a viral one. Ear infections don't always involve pain in the ear.

This may sound like a stupid question, but is there any way you're letting your blood sugar either get too low by not eating when you should or else get very high and then have a sudden drop. When blood sugar is too low or drops to quickly you can have a horrible feeling that you're weak (especially in the arms and through your mid-section), you can get not only dizzy but feeling as if you're really going to faint (and that's an unmistakeable feeling that anyo who has had it knows what it is), and you can feel "hot and cold". Lack of appetite also comes when someone goes past hungry.

A person could have eaten, so this isn't necessarily tied to not eating (although it can be). Its more linked to not eating right or on time or eating a giant carbohydrate meal and then not eating again for long time (or any number of other "eating-off" situations).

It sounds like pneumonia. I've had it twice and no insurance. It will drag on for several months, lessening as time goes by. Get it checked if you can afford to.
