they realise the 9/11 and 7/7 killed lots of muslims too? I am just glad my brother didn't get on the tube to go to work on 7/7 or he would have also been a victim of these terrorists.

Sigh, its sad... the reason they feel this way is because they don't know anything about islam and are going on the old stereotypes.

People take one or two verses out of the quran and warp it badly and then show it to other people, and then they feel that is proper evidence of how all muslims are out to get them.

And as for it killing other muslims, they typically don't care to think about it.

The "kinder, gentler" Muslims don't get a lot of airtime. Therefore, few people outside of a Muslim neighborhood (or without any exposure to true Muslims) only have the national/international news to go on. There isn't much GOOD news there.

I know that there have been many protests, by Muslims, against the violence being portrayed every day on the news. Muslims speak out all the time. However, it isn't very sensational, and doesn't grab any headlines, when a few scholars come out in their robes and say to a camera "These were bad people, and not Muslims". The cameraman will go over to the smoke-laden mosque instead, to find the one rabid imam screaming "KILL ALL THE INFIDELS!!!!" It makes more "interesting" news.

Here's a thought. Next time, for the Million Man March, collect every Muslim around the country, and have them carry signs saying things like "Give peace a chance", "Love your neighbor", "Say no to guns", "Allah loves women too", and "A non-Muslim child is not a target". Let's see CNN ignore that!

I know plenty of muslims but no terrorists. I think a lot of the trouble is that muslims are easily identified cos of the colour of there skin and some of the traditional dress worn by the women. When the IRA were active they couldn't be identified from white british christians, so nobody thought all white people where terrorists. It doesnt help that Tony Blair and the Police keep harping on about muslims and terrorists in the same breath. I am white and christian

I hear what you're saying, the problem at the moment is that the only Muslims that seem to be getting a voice are the nutters, which means you're all getting tarred with the same brush. I think that the problem is not helped by the fact that every time I've watched a Muslim community leader talking about the death and destruction caused by these nuts instead of condemning it outright and pointing out that there is no place in your faith for these acts of murder, they've sort of turned around and said that its our own fault because of British foreign policy. This just feeds in to the popular belief that all Muslims are anti British and support terrorism. They also use language which infers that all of this is about religion, it might be for them but the cold harsh reality is that this is mostly about good old fashioned money and resources to the USA and Brits. To hear them speak in these terms makes them seem terribly out of touch with the whole situation.

I would hope in time people will be sensible and realise that there is a huge difference between someone wishing to practise their faith and a psycho who wants to blow themselves and others to Kingdom - come on the ludicrous promise of twenty or so virgins in the after life ( What kind of god is this?)

I'm sure it will pass in time once the situation has calmed, but whilst there's fear, people will be irrational I'm afraid.

It's back to the situation of the Irish a few years ago. Speak with an Irish accent and you were immediately suspect even if you had nothing to do with the various terrorist organisations from there. By the way, I was in absolute panic when I realised that an Iranian friend, who is definately not a practicing muslim, was due to fly to Tehran last July. It was only when he reassured me that he was flying via Glasgow and Amsterdam, not London, that I relaxed. I think he thought I was crazy and paranoid; but that was before that poor Brazilian boy was slaughtered.

'Indfidel' has been banded about a lot here in many answers! How many people know what it means??
It simply means 'one who doesn't believe in a religion' !! That's simple enough isn't it??
I am an infidel, (I am an atheist ), I do not believe in any God or any religion, it may be difficult to understand but I do have Muslim friends, and even Christian friends, I do understand both religions and it is not 'Taboo' for me to discuss their religion with them, it is also not 'Taboo' for them to tell me that in their opinion , I will suffer for this in the life hereafter!! So I am apparently 'doomed to suffer' eventually!! (I doubt it very much)!!
None of these Muslims have ever expressed a desire to show me the 'life here after' prematurely !!
I treat them with respect, they treat me with respect!
Although I at times go to great pain to try and blame everything I can on religion (of all denominations) its not really true, what is true is the fact that nations do 'covet their neighbours' they covet the land for strategic value, or for oil, or for whatever!
The IRA have been mentioned quite a lot in some replies,
It would be simple to state here a case based around religion, it would very be simple to argue about Roman Catholics, are they true Christians etc!! and to go into the age old question of 'what is a terrorist'?
But could it just be that people do not want invaders in their countries?? If the Germans had invaded Britan would those of us that still fought against them have been terrorists?
Is it not possible that Jesus was in fact a 'terrororist'? because of the Roman occupation in his land?
Most of the IRA were (and still are) just as religious as the Brit invaders, I'm sorry to have to admit that most world conflicts are not down to religion alone!

Islamic conflicts worldwide: Chechnia, Kashmir, Thailiand, Phillipines, Sudan, Somolia, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Isreal, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Afganistan, Algeria...

Why do ignorant people speak about things they havent researched? Almost all armed conflicts worldwide are Islamic.

Lets suppose that not all Muslims are terrorists...so what? Why does the question even matter? What difference does it make if not allll Muslims are terrorists?

The fact that Muslims kill Muslims is that the Muslims are doing the other Muslims a favor by giving them instant martyrdom and they don't have to do anything - it's a great gift. That's why Muslims don't mind killing other Muslims. While not all Muslims are terrorists, so far all (recent) terrorists have been Muslims.

Muhammad is the role model for all Muslims. How many people did Muhammad and his band of followers kill? How many camel trains did Muhammad and his followers ambush, loot and kill? How many men of the Jewish clan 'Bani Qurayzah' did Muhammad and his followers behead and throw into a ditch (was it 900?) and how many of their women and children did Muhammad and his followers sell into slavery? The Islamic terrorists claim they are following Muhammad, after considering the above, that sounds reasonable.
My question is, who are good, peaceful, moderate Muslims following? If they don't want to be regarded with suspicion perhaps it is time they disassociated themselves from Islamic terrorists by getting a different role model.
