I was driving my friends car. I hit someone. It was my fault. My friend has insurance but I dont know what kind of coverage. I was driving her car because she needed to borrow my truck. If her insurance doesnt cover her damage should I help her pay for it even though I was doing her a favor by borrowing my truck?

If her insurance isn't enough, YOUR insurance should cover the rest.

Your insurance price would go up. I suggest you start shopping for car insurance. I have spend lots of time looking for best rates. I suggest that you take advantage of the internet. Try http://www.2insure4less.com/?s=blog. Just fill out an insurance request form and get many quotes so you can compare.

Everything else aside, you were driving, you've said it was your fault. You are responsible to make her whole. Either pay out of pocket or turn it in you your insurance. Why should HER insurance pay for your mistake?

Letting her use your truck was a risk that you took. If she wrecked your truck, would you want her to pay?

Your careless driving of her vehicle is your responsibility. Offer to take care of what the insurance does not pay. Step up the plate and do the right thing.

if her insurance doesn't cover her car i would think before contacting your insurance company...it may be cheaper to come to an agreement for you guys to pay out of pocket vs filing a claim...if they will cover it...personal thought is if you have to come up with money it should be a shared expense because you were doing her a favor....

Yes, you were the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident. If she had wrecked your truck, would you want to pay for it?
