We usually recommend spaying between 4 and 6 months of age, BEFORE the first heat cycle. Call your vet and schedule the surgery today!

Dogs that are not spayed have an increased risk of developing breast cancer and other hormone related diseases like pyometra (a nasty, sometimes fatal uterine infection that requires an emergency, thus very expensive and risky, spay).

Breast Cancer and Spaying in Dogs
Dogs that are spayed before their first heat cycle have less than 1% chance of developing breast cancer. Once they go through their first heat cycle, that chance increases to 8%. After 2 heat cycles the chance increases to about 25%. That's right, 1 in 4 unspayed female dogs will get breast cancer!

Right now is good. Six months is the usual. Contrary to popular opinion a dog doesn't need to have a season before she can be spayed.

You should have done it already. If you spay a dog BEFORE the first heat cycle you minimize breast cancer chances by up to 95%. BEFORE second heat breast cancer chances are minimized by 75%. BEFORE third heat by 55%. Any time after that and you aren't reducing breast cancer chances at all. Dogs can get spayed anytime after 3 months of age, but most vets won't do it until they are 4 months old and have had their rabies vaccine.

check with your vet but usually 6 weeks after their last season in order to let the hormones settle other than that its best done at 6 months which is normally before the first season

Anytime if she hasn't had her first season. If she has then I think you have to wait until 3 months until after her next season.
Have a dog spayed before her first season prevents mammary cancer from happening. I have a very fit and healthy 9 year collie who was spayed at 6 months and I have never never had any problems with her.

The best time is before she has her first heat cycle. Usually 4-6 months old. The more heat cycles she goes through the higher her risk of mammary cancer. So DO IT NOW!!!!

Do it now. Female dogs that are spayed are much less likely to get certain types of cancer so the sooner the better!

Now. Dogs should typically be spayed then they're around 5-6months old.

My puppy was spayed at 11 weeks of age. She was a rescue animal and I signed a contract. She did fine.
