I used to and I quit b/c I started feeling gross afterwards. I was tired all the time, my chest hurt, I couldn't handle the smoke. I think pot is better than cigarettes, but not by smoking it. I like it because it helped me sleep and helped with my back spasms.

In moderation it's ok, but it's not healthy to smoke anything. If you still want the effect, bake it in something. I know people that swear by it and others who hate it, but if it works better than prescriptions then by all means.

I just know a lot of people who abuse it like any other thing like drinking, smoking, etc. Moderation and not smoking it is key.

Well, maybe instead of quitting you could try to cut down. I used to smoke a lot of the green stuff but lately it's not that much of a turn on. I still smoke here and there but I'm glad that it's not a habit anymore. I can actually pass on it now. In moderation I don't think it will do any harm. Anyone who puts their "over exaggerated opinion of refer madness" in here has never even smoked pot so, their opinion doesn't matter!!!

Marijuana is an herb...it grows naturally from the ground. The only time anything becomes a drug is when another substance (chemicals) is added to it. Most times we do get pot in its natural state, so it is an herb. It has many wonderful uses and benefits. The only downside would be, of course, the dangers of smoking it. Penn & Teller did an episode of bull**it regarding marijuana....there is absolutely no record of a marijuana related death...ever. EVER. Interesting, isn't it?? Based on all of this, I cannot honestly give you a good reason why you should quit pot. So spark it up sweetie and pass it to your right! LOL!

ASAP. The problem is that pot shuts down the judgemental development in the adolescent brain. If you have been smoking pot since 13, I fear that your judgement is poor and clouded at best. It's never had a chance to breathe.
The irony is that if you never quit smoking pot, you will never develop the rationale for quitting. The sooner you quit, the sooner you will understand why you never should have started.
I only hope that you are not too late

Smoking anything coats your lungs with bad stuff...it is unfiltered pure smoke, nice if you want that, but harmful. It contains many of the harmful substances that cigarettes have, and here is a chart that shows that. And since you tend to hold the smoke in longer, more remains than with cigarettes. It's really a personal choice, and the information has been out there for years and years, only those who smoke it say that all of the information out there is lies, which is of course not true. That is just their rationalization. There is no free paly in this world, and sooner or later it can get to you.

Wow, if you want a serious answer,, HERE IT IS.

My Dad died at 84 after smoking 68 years. He couldn't stop smoking either.

When he died HE HAD NO LUNG CANCER. AMAZING. DON'T YOU THINK?

EMPHYSEMA--This is an ugly disease. Slowly the cells that are supposed to take in air harden, more and more every year. The smaller the lungs the less oxygen goes to all parts of your body. One ghastly illness after another will come.

1. Inability to breath anything but shallow breaths and then you have to carry around a tank of oxygen just to breath.

2. Blindness- the eyes stopped getting oxygen in the veins and capillaries.

3. Total deafness- for the same reason. The oxygen just couldn't move through the capillaries to keep everything operational.

4. Of course when your brain doesn't get oxygen your brain DOES NOT FUNCTION ANY MORE.

My Dad ended up in a nursing home unable to take any care of himself because of SMOKING FOR 68 Years. He finally had to be hand fed and died a horrible, blind, deaf, death that no one should ever want.

Always remember that the poor care you take care of yourself, you DUMP on your children at the end of your life.

I'm sorry to sound so angry but his nasty habit deprived 4 children of their father, 10 grandchildren of their grandfather and my Mother of a Husband she loved.

He just couldn't think past the end of the next cigarette.

For the sake of your family STOP NOW. PLEASE.

I'll even give you suggestions on how to do it, as I even smoked for 8 years.
1. Only allow yourself a cig. on the hour. If you miss it you have to wait till the next hour.

2. When your desperate. Inhale through your mouth. Just keep doing it until the desire passes.

3. I also chewed gum (a Lot)

Good Luck and Stop for yourself and your family and of course you will smell better.

After reading other answers I realized that you meant marjuana and not cigarettes. But since I spent so much time ranting, I'm going to leave it.

Seriously, I can't say anything negative about long term smokers! - I know too many. that are successful and financially secure people. As a matter of fact, I have worked with them and in some cases for them. The one thing I would like to say, is that all of these people that I know, never "smoke" on the job! Few if any, ever "smoked" during class, etc. My generation knew better! It is unfortunate that so many young people smoke, as young if not younger then you were. I blame their parents, for being so indiscreet. My generation never smoked in front of our children, and we don't to this day. We would never contribute to the delinquency of a minor or interfere in his learning progress. As a LONG TERM SMOKER yourself, I hope you agree.

in my opinion you should only quit if it is really effecting your health....or if you have a feeling that it is going to get you in trouble..like if you have a kid in school and he accidentally said something to the wrong person....or you have alot of Friends that are getting busted for pot...

the only real positive thing that comes from quitting is you would have the money to spend on other things
