Energy is what's usually behind any source of activity ( and christians are very fast in pointing that someone must be behind the wind blowing, people moving etc.), but people didn't know it back in the days ( just like they thought the Earth was flat) so they called it God?
If not, you sincerely believe God is a septagenaire looking dude, with blue eyes and white beard, sitting in a gold throne and looking kindly at his creation?

God provides us energy for our daily life. He is not a form of energy. And I don't think this is a Christian belief. And also no one believes that "God is a septagenaire looking dude, with blue eyes and white beard, sitting in a gold throne and looking kindly at his creation?". Good fantasy though of yours.

God is threefold in nature just as we are...Spirit, mind, and body....the universe can be considered the body of God and yes, it is composed of energy. The mind of God transcends the material universe but is linked to the material universe....thought originates from the invisible and manifests as the visible. Spirit which is God is the indefinable absolute and is not composed of energy. Energy derives from It but is and is not Energy itself. Words cannot describe this Source.

God is the sum total of everything that exists in this universe and an infinite number of other universes. God is-he is the be all and the end all- not a deity, and we are all a part of God, but for a short time we incarnate in the material world to experience some spiritual growth.

God is a living being, a spirit being. It is true that the words from which we get "spirit" mean air, wind, blast, etc.
It is interesting that you pose this question, though. Scientists tell us all matter must from from energy, which is exactly what the Bible teaches happened.
"Raise your eyes high up and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, he also being vigorous in power, not one of them is missing."
