The 5 month old 'Jezebel', as my husband calls her, is in heat. She is screeching all night long and trying to get her fixed brothers to 'service' her. She even seems to favor my husband's attention now. She was always pretty vocal, but this is RIDICULOUS! She won't shut up. She's getting fixed soon, but all of us are annoyed, even her brothers. How long does this last??? When will she stop being a "kitty of the night'?

Heat can last 7-14 days, and they can go into heat every 14 days. The average is every 21-28 days, but some cats go into heat more often, hence the 14 days. Get her spayed asap to stop the behavior and to prevent unwanted litters and complications of a possible false pregnancy.

If you don't get her fixed , the rest of her natural life! Which won't be long I suspect!
It usually goes on for about 8 days and very long nights! Has a respite for about a week and then starts again!
I always feel bad before I take a cat to be done and then seeing the new "having much more fun' version afterwards, I remember why I did it!!!

She may cycle for a full week...and then turn around a week later and go BACK into heat. Get her spayed as soon as possible and this will be irritation of the past.

The heat cycle can last up to two weeks and then start again shortly. Most vets will spay when in heat. Talk to your vet about this.

Well ..mine used to be in heat ..about a week..But 5 months is a good age to castrate her,it's the best thing..if you want some R&R at night.

Unfortunately, this behavior will come and go continuously until you have her spayed. She may stop it briefly, but she will soon start again.

Just be sure she doesn't become a "lady of the street". It goes on forever until she is spayed.
