Not really. There was a serious question on principle many years ago that queried if a police officer entered a house on fire to save people, was he putting his life at risk and therefore making his insurance policy null and void. It was agreed by the Insurance Associations that this was not the case. I do not know of any surcharge on the Insurance of Police Officers. It is open to all officers to take out a cheap Negligence Policy to cover him/her against complaints of Negligence.

Yeah,their life insurance rates are higher.That's because there's a high incidence of suicide among cops.
