Before Jesus' arrival the Jews were in constant turmoil with the Romans. Zealous Jews would always plot to overthrow the Romans and it was a continuing struggle. The Romans worshiped idols made of wood and stone whereas the Jews believed in the One True Living God.

Hey, imbecile, fighting has been going on as long as man has been around. Caveman want Mastodon. Indian man want other tribe Indian woman. Wars have been fought over territory, food, ideology.
