I'm not a SDA, and I respect your beliefs, but you're a little confused about the worm thing.
The word "worm" in Mark 9:48 is the Greek "skolex," meaning "a worm which preys upon dead bodies." Most folks (including myself) believe the worm is actually a maggot; it's certainly not the soul.
Consider this further: John 3:16 tells us: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not PERISH but have eternal life."
We must take Jesus at His word and not interpret His teachings by spiritualizing one part of a teaching and taking the next part literally. Jesus LITERALLY meant that His believers will live eternal lives; therefore, Jesus also meant LITERALLY that those who do not have eternal life perish. This is a hotly debated issue in Christianity today and I think both sides have valid arguments, even though I side with the "annihilationists" who believe non-believers suffer in Hell after death, then are resurrected at the end of the Millenial Reign and tossed into the Lake of Fire, which destroys them. It's not the punishment that's eternal -- it's the CONSEQUENCES that last forever.
Consider also Galatians 6:8 -- "The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life." That's pretty point blanc, don't you think?
Peace.

MY friend read Revelations chapter 20 and you will read "and I saw the dead both small and great stand before God and the books were open and another book was open which is the Lambs Book of life, and Death and HELL were delivered up and those names that were not found in the book of life were cast into the Lake Of Fire this is the second death. So I'm not saying that I agree with The Seven Day Adventist, but I do believe what the Bible says so Hell is a holding place until the great day of Judgement and the lake of fire is eternal.
