The ONLY war I can think of that was started because of love is the Trojan War between Sparta and Troy.

The Trojan War was a war waged, according to legend, against the city of Troy in Asia Minor (present-day Turkey), by the armies of the Achaeans, after Paris of Troy stole Helen from her husband Menelaus, king of Sparta.

Yet despite being commemorated by Homer in the Iliad and the Odyssey, and featuring in several Greek tragedies, this well-known story is mythology and not history, so I don't know ONE real historical war conducted in pursuit of a love affair.

War isn't always a bad thing.

Sometimes God will use war to terminate evil nations. Otherwise they will continue to strive for world domination. Would you have rather seen the United States stay out of World War II? And let the Nazi's take over the world?

Sometimes it is out of love that we HAVE to fight. People always seem to try to destroy love because of their own selfish ideals.

God. In the bible, it is full of stories about wars and how God is seeking vengeance. If God is so concerned with people disobeying him, why doesn't he just cancel creation -- without all the drama and fuss about vengeance and victory? What were the writers of the bible smoking when they put the book together?

Well, it depends on how you define love. If you include love of self and love of wealth and love of power...then by far, love has caused the vast lion's share of wars. The number of wars that were actually caused by religion are fairly insignificant in view of the huge number of wars mankind has seen.

The bible has been altered that many circumstances, new variations replacing previous, issues re-written, so that you'll be able to under no circumstances tell with the bible what's authentic or not. The Quran is the perfect and easily holy textual content that has never been altered.

Most were started by the love for their own God and fear of other's Gods.
