apparently they don't read much. I have read the Bible several times and have yet to find purgatory or anything that would closely resemble it. and I can't find any instruction at all about praying to other people to ask them, to ask Jesus, to ask God, what we need to know! I like how we are instructed to pray.. Jesus gave us the perfect example of prayer "Our Father who art in heaven..." it cuts out the middle man or men or women! lol!
as for asking anyone OUTSIDE of Jesus to intercede for us, this is wrong. he is our high priest and the one that intercedes for us. no one else has the power to do this but Jesus.
FYI:
not all the denominations named above are a break off from the Catholic church.

You have been misled. People do not take the HOly Mother as a way to God...she, like the Saints, is prayed to in order to ask for her help and intercession to place our needs before God... She is, after all, pretty darn close to Him, wouldn't you think? She birthed him and raised him...Purgatory is explained in the CATHOLIC Bible...the 7 chapters which were removed by Martin Luther when Protestantism began. so if you read the WHOLE bible and not just the Protestant one, you will read about purgatory. Mary isn't discussed a lot in the bible, it is true...however, that doesn't mean she isn't important or close to God, or very holy. She loves us and hears our prayers.

hm im assuming we are talking about catholics. the same people who put their faith into the guy they call the pope. who is richer then most of us (its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle then the rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven) - whats he need his little uniform for, and the gold and his castle. they are screwey i think. and creepy too (my friends family was catholic and id go over there every once in a while and its really creepy when they do the hail mairy with their beeded necklace. makes me think of a cult.)

Find a dictionary and look up the definition of 'delusion' and then listen for the sound of a ringing bell.

Hahaha, yeah. That's why Catholicism never made sense to me. I was always baffled that they would worship their idols of Mary, yet tell me I would burn in Hell for worshipping idols.
