We have computers and research projects galor at all our universities. We track down cows with the chance of having madcow disease, mosquitoes with west-nile virus, the current population of owls in minnesota, and how many burgers McDonalds has sold.
The people that come from certain countries with problems(god bless them also) get accepted as soon as they hit land.
The fact of knowing who is here and were are they should be the country's first concern.
Why can't we process the applications of people that want to immigrate to this country legally in a timely manner?
So they will not have to sneak over.

Mainly because not everyone who applies gets in, so many people think it's easier to not bother applying.

There is no way to stop crime permanently. Not going to happen. Can't be done. There is no way to stop illegal immigration. Not going to happen. Can't be done. Because every beach, every river, ever stretch of border is another point of entry.

What we need to start doing is establishing rules and procedures that are effective and practical given the reality of the situation, and stop jumping up and down and screaming about the problem.

You hit the problem exactly "knowing who is here and where they are". And that requires an effective and practical plan to deal with the 12-15 million illegal immigrants already here. And that's not going to happen when the only plan anyone comes up with is "deport them". Because that's just like saying "arrest and imprison all the criminals". Don't you think police have been trying to do that for decades? Not going to happen. Can't be done.

We need sensible, practical, effective solutions. Not extremism.

Simple answer to this one...TOO MUCH MONEY TO BE MADE off of illegal immigrants and the legal population down the line with lower pay and substandard work conditions when employers get the chance. The employers are as much or more to blame than the mojados. They enable them to get work and stay in this country.

amen, free breakfast hahaha
I agree with you. The way I look at it is, if I were on a boat and it capsazed and I washed ashore on some foreign country I don't want to be met by guns and soldiers and ignorance and racism. The same way if I decided I was sick of living my life based on corporate political b.s. and wanted to live free, this is no longer the country to do so in. It is a country of money, and if I chose to seek a better life, I would hope to be greeted with open arms and understanding by the country of my choice.

also, if they sneak over, they are escaping something and we should treat them w/ humanity b/c they probably risked everything including life to do so and their valience should be rewarded, not condemned.

Nothing, and I mean nothing that is accomplished by the government is done in a timely and efficient manner. The reason: labor unions and the democrats that support them.

It's all messed up. Cancel immigration until they get it sorted out.
