dont jump ito marrage it is a LIFE LONG COMITMENT
if your family does not agree you need to fid the root of why
ask your family why
and are you ready to give up half of your stuff if it does not work

I'm in the middle of the exact hell you are going through. If my fiance (who is a guy) wasn't such a little girl about having a wedding, I'd elope. You can even get hitched in the church for about $300 to $500 if that is important to you and throw yourself a reception party whenever you two are financially able to. Weddings dont have to make you go nuts, it's about love not all this B.S. waste of money hype society puts on it. Elope. Get married in the Dominican. The resort plans the entire thing, stress-free. So you have your wedding and honeymoon all at once.
Remember that it is your wedding, so you guys must do what you want. Don't expect family to pay for YOUR wedding either.

you can go to the courhouse and get married with a small cermony, or if find a ordained minister to marry you for free and have a small back yard cermeony or if you dont have a back yard look into the park area see if you can reserve it. and then make all the food for the reception yourself , usally the city will let you rent chairs and tables for cheap. hope this helps

If you are adult enough to choose to get married, and your family doesnt OFFER to help you than you have no other choice but to do it on your own.
You are blessed if your family OFFERS to help you with it, they arent obligated to do so.

Do it yourself. Go to the courthouse and get a marriage license, and whenever the two of you get enought money...then get a fancy wedding (only if you want to).
