Stay away from the Coast Guard. Try the U.S. Navy if you wanna be out at sea atleast you can go to different countries instead of patroling the U.S. Coastline. Try http://www.gocoastguard.com/ or how about it www.navy.com.

Try that ancient form of knowledge known as a phone book. Look for the coast guard in the US govt section of white pages. It will give you name and address of a recruiter near you.
