Is this something to be concerned about? Teens have been hanging out in the area. It is an undeveloped lot and the gas containers can only be seen by someone walking. Looks as if people are there regularly because there is other litter there too. Called the sherriff's dept. and they didn't seem concerned.

Definitely not a place where people refuel. Nice neighborhood. Dead end street. The overgrown property is owned by a public utility.

Kids are syphoning alot of gas these days. Probably where they store the cans, so they don't have to explain to Mom & Dad what the cans are for.

Hmmm...there seem to be many possible answers to this question - Maybe it's been used as a disposal by many people who have run out of gas, or teens could be "huffing" the gas fumes, or the containers could be used to transfer the ingredients for methamphetamines. In any case, I'm rather surprised that the sheriff's department was disinterested, I would think they'd at least be willing to help clean up and to see if the situation continued or went away.

are they empty or full?

did you tell the police (if) they are full and that teens hang out there?

If the police won't do anything then I would probably take the cans and dispose of them. Is it private property?

I would be concerned, but if the authorities don't care, I don't know what you can do. Are there any community organizations like town-watch where you are?
