Most people would rather be certain they're miserable, than risk being happy?

Misterable is comfortable. To be happy they have to do something different. Different is not comfortable. To be happy IS a risk, you're right. We have to treat ourselves like children once in a while... maybe even every day... When children do something they aren't used to... that's when they learn. Otherwise.... if they are always doing something they're comfortable doing, they will not learn as fast or be as happy as the child who is always risking. Great question! We need to be more childlike to be happy... that's logical!

Because if you know that you are going to miserable you have nothing to lose but if you take the chance and try and be happy and it fails you've lost something. So why move from where you are when you fear ending up right back where you started..

At the risk of being hurt again...people tend to block out anything remotely good, because they feel it wont last long...so why would they want to go through that again...the whole "Yo-Yo" of emotions is what they are afraid of...but they should know enjoy whatever moment that you get...because it is a process that all of us have to go through in building our character...don't let anything blemish it no matter how bad it may feel or seem...

Alot of people are scared of change. they think that there is no one out there for them. most of the time there partner will tell them well if you leave me theres no other man / women out there going to put up with you or want anything to do with you. exc.... this happens more than you think the guy threatins his girl by saying theres no one else who would want anything to do with her so she feels stuck in the relationship. hope that helps a little. take care. :)

Because alot of people have the view of "better the devil you know than the one you don't". Change is sometimes scary and alot of people can't handle that. Good question, though.
