I've spent years with short hair because it never styles. I've finally grown it out some, but it looks horrible. I've been nicknamed guido because it's so bad. What's a good way to straighten your hair and a product to keep it shiny and with some hold. It's also really frizzy (frightenlingly frizzy). Is their any way to help that?
It's about 2 inches long and dark brown. The hair itself never goes straight, it's curly and I can't seem to uncurl it very well. Please help!

You had better get back you short hair. In my opinion, both guy and curly hair need short haircut to be looked well.
Straightener is not a good solution because it's hart to uncurl natural curly hair and you curly hair will grow back soon later then. Shave the head seems like lay on a game of chance.
Anyway, you can try different ways because you hair will never stop growing so you have many chances to try.

A great product to me is Shine, it helps to control the frizz and makes the hair shiny. Curly hair is so sexy on men and besides you don't really have to style it like straight hair. You just need a product to help you manage those unruly curls.

It sounds like you need some professional help. If you can afford it, go to, maybe 3 different salons, for a professional opinion and get different ideas. (I say go to more than one salon so you can get a second / third opinion.) I wish you well.

PS. I once had a co-worker who shaved his head, and you know what? He actually looked better bald than with a full head of hair. There are some guys who actually do look better bald. Maybe you're one of them. (?)

who cares what everyone else thinks? I personally love men with curly hair... keep it at a manageable short/medium length, put in a little hair wax to keep it smooth... don't flatten the curls!!!

Unfortunately, guys with curley hair either need to keep it really short or grow it out into an afro.

well I have heard that if one shaves their hair bald then it grows back different then it was.my mother-in-laws hair fell out and then grew back straight it was super curly.that's all I know.it's not long enough for a straightener but they do have styling gel for hair to make it shinny.
