I live near a construction site and they're always wondering off. Sometimes I'll find them asleep on my lawn. Sometimes I'll find them just standing out there, an inch from my wall, staring at the siding. It's kinda weird. Usually I just spray them with the hose... is there a better way?

The hose is the only thing that shoos them away.... for a while. :(

I know exactly what you are talking about. I live in an apartment so I don't have a lawn but I see these people everyday hanging around on the sidewalks, on the corners of vacant buildings, etc. I can't walk some places because of the harrassment I get from the 50 or more of them that congrigate in some places. I guess the only to do is put a fence to the edge of your lawn. Putting up a sign won't work because most can't read english and anyway they have respect for rules, so that would work. If that doesn't work, trying callilng the police or something.

You need to address this problem with the supervisor of the construction company and to make sure it doesn't happen again. Also let the supervisor know that if the problem continues, that you will call the police for having their employees transpassing on your property, and in addition, you will place a complaint with the Attorney General's office on their company. That should do it! Good luck! P.S. I can't believe you hose people!

Spraying with hose might not be a good idea. Sooner or later you will spray someone who will not take it very well. It might be better to not accept the consequences of what may happen next. Call the police and maybe talk to the foreman at the construction company.

I had to laugh when I read that you sprayed them with a hose. I would suggest throwing eggs at them, but then you would have to clean it up. Call the police and tell them people are trespassing on your lawn and ask what your options are.

If they are illegal immigrants, more than likely they can't speak much less read ENGLISH, so how is posting a sign going to keep them off this person's lawn. I would talk to construction site supervisor and alert them to your problem.

lol .. i was going to suggest spraying them with a hose, i have done that before...do you have a gun? scare the hell out of them, do you have a big dog? put up a no tress passing sign, and call the police.

My husband and I enjoy getting our exercise in by chasing unwanted visitors off of our property with our small arsenal of weapons...his weapon of choice is an antique morning star, and I prefer re-bar, or on special occasions an axe if I want to get in real close...
