Must you really spew fire and brimstone threats at people because they don't agree with you?

As an agnostic, I've never threatened a christian.
So why do christians feel the need to threaten me with their mythology?

(and why do they think it'll even work? They might as well threaten me with the boogeyman)

and don't tell me that you're all trying to warn me and "save my soul" or I'll have to share some of the "christian hate mail" that I've received recently. Angry, hateful sh1t.

In a real sense, Hell is the total absence of God. To the Christian this would be a place he would not want to ever be. The popular concept of Hell is a creation of man to scare people to religion and give them "the fear of God". To the Christian, Hell is merely being completely void of God forever.

I asked my father this once and he said that Hell was a way to keep people fearful and in line. He said the problem is everything and anything that can be fun in life can get you a ticket to Hell which is why he chooses to ignore it. And btw, he's a Methodist.

Step one: Make a monster out of people who disagree with you. This can easily be done by claiming that God himself punishes all those people for ever and ever.

Step two: Demonize anyone who questions answer #1.

Step three: Dominate and controle above people.

Step four: Pray for them.

Why not just go on with your own life and ignore those things you don't agree with? Why such intense anger when all you have to do is avoid those things which seem to bother you so much? Have you seen your therapist lately?

As another agnostic, I can only say that it seems as if they want to personally exercise all the negative 'powers' of their deities. This gives them a sense of purpose and an outlet for cruelty, all cloaked in such precious overconcern for your immortal soul that it can make you want to puke.

I tell them that they are wasting their own life, so please don't try to extend it to wasting mine.

Hell is not important to me. I am a christian. I care about what Christ does for me day to day, the whole eternity thing is just a sweet deal.

Fear is a powerful tool when it comes to controlling large numbers of people.

Terroists use bombs, Christians go door to door, with the idea of eternal torment and anguish.

I do not believe a true Christian would send hate mail to anyone, we may pray for them.
