A policeman showed up at my door telling me that someone witnessed my vehicle hit a Nissan Quest 2 weeks ago. The witness supposedly gave my plate number.

The only damage on my car is a scrape mark on the UNDERSIDE of the front bumper. (consistant to if you pull too close to a curb in the parking lot or scrape when backing out of a steep driveway.)

Are there any parts of a Nissan Quest that would fit UNDER the bumper of my Ford Taurus?

We own a Nissan Quest, looking at it I am entirely unsure how any part of it would fit under anything's bumper much less a Taurus. Are charges being pressed? I would borrow a camera and take pictures of every angle of your car right now, even the under bumper damage and have them printed with the date stamped on them, just to be safe. Plus in my state you have to actually prove a car was in an accident, not just a witness statement.

Your 14 steps ahead of yourself, as the saying goes. First off lets answer one big question? Was your car at the location of the supposed collision site. Was it the same day and time that you were told. In all does what the officer said match you and your car. That's the first question that needs an answer? What was the outcome with the policeman? What was damaged on the Nissan Quest? And yes it's possible that you climbed the front of the Quest if you were backing up. The next question is did you call your insurance company about this? As long as no one was hurt, is all that matters. Everything else can be fixed. I'm not your judge, but you should find out if the facts fit. Good luck Mark.

The only possible way a quest could scratch the underside of your bumper is if it had a tow hitch on it. But that is more likely to punch a hole than it is scratch.

They got the wrong car. Take crowgirls advice and take pictures, there is no way you hit the quest.

A Quest is a minivan. There is no chance of it fitting under your car. It has the same bumper height as a Taurus.

Try going to Nissan's website, they have a comprehensive list of styles, prices, etc.

No. Contact your insurance company at once.
