The movies is the only safe bet for a first date really, everybody likes going there. Although there was a post that said that it doesn't allow you to interact, which is true. Maybe you could meet up for a milkshake or something beforehand and then go to the movies, so you've still had chance to chat with each other? I suggest you do go to the movies afterwards because going for a drink isn't really a date by itself. Good luck.

You know, the movies aren't such a bad idea.....gives you something to talk about afterwards if you both enjoyed and I don't know if you've seen it or if it's still showing at the cheap flicks but maybe you could even rent the DVD & have fun at home because I gotta tell you, not much a girl likes more than to laugh and relax on a first date! Go see the movie CARS!!! Seriously it is so damned funny yet.........you'll both love it and something to talk about instead of going to dinner and trying to talk about the food neither of you may like????? Or some other event that might be around in your local area. Just don't take her to your bedroom, the backseat or someplace else where she'll be paranoid from the start, ok?!! Try that on a later date & she'll be more relaxed and like you better, too!!!

Depending on the weather here are two ideas. One a picnic in a park setting, use small votive candles and some music would be nice. Some of the local parks here have free concerts on the weekends, bring some cheese crackers and an inexpensive bottle of wine , maybe even a little slow dancing. A lady likes it when someone that is interested in her to be creative in where they go and what they do on an evening out. Good Luck....

Anywhere but the movies on a first date. Studies show that one of the two feels that things move too fast - arm-wrapping, necking, etc.and there is usually no second date even though there was an initial attraction. Keep it slow and low key - bowling, shopping, maybe even a trip to the beach. Women do not like to feel rushed or pressured.

Movies should NEVER be a 1st date... how are you supposed to talk and "mingle"...plus If you like this girl and you think she likes you...make it something different and interesting... Now that it's the fall...take her apple picking... ( do the whole hay ride thing too!! ) ... Or if your not into that..or not in that part of the country take her for a picnic at a local park ( that has a walking area)

movies are for 2nd or 3rd dates when u wanna get some u know or a little bit of some,1st date dinners are blah to cliche u know everyone does it ,the bowling idea was good,or go n play pool,or laser tag, go to an arcade for a little while,or amusement park, carnival, joy riding lol,rob a bank 2gether u know crazy stuff, play in the ball room in mcdonalds, no alcohol should be involved on the 1st date and dress casual/comfortable also make sure ur breath smells good and i guess thats it,good luck and have fun

When you say school then you're both young and broke??
You can get some meal deals at fast food restaurants and then walk the calories off finding out about one another

A Water Park or Mini Golf, something along those lines. Go Karts, Target Practice, go play and have fun- nix anything "romantic" until you're both ready for that.

Meet her in a coffee bar for a drink at lunchtime; then if you get short of things to say you can " remember" a job you have to do and make a getaway.
Ask HER if she likes, say ,a dance, or music ,or other interest ,and take her to it.
If you go with other friends; things don't get awkward if you run out of things to say or don't " hit it off"
If you do make a quick getaway, you can always arrange another date. If you both like each other you always seem to find things to say so things will turn out OK !!!!

Take her to Color-Me-Mine. I think that would be good for a first date since you could talk while you paint the pottery. Also, if there are "awkward silences", they won't be so awkward if you are doing something with your hands. Add a nice meal before or after and I think you have yourself a full date.
