England (hey I'm biased - I'm English ;-)

Beautiful cities? I guess the obvious ones - Oxford, Cambridge - but there are also plenty of beautiful olde worlde towns and villages. Try the county of Dorset (esp a village called Plush).

Enjoy.

All of the above - Oxford, Cotswalds and Derbyshire.

But I really recommend Chester in North England. It's kinda between Liverpool and Manchester and was once the capital of the Roman Empire in England. You can still see the city wals and loads of other cool stuff.

Wherever you go, I hope you enjoy your trip.

Technically, Ireland or England are not counties (I think this is what you meant). Ireland, except Northern Ireland, is not part of the UK.

Try Stratford-on-Avon where Shakespeare was born, Edinburgh or Ambleside in the lake district.

I would recommend Bath in England, gorgeous city and lots of very nice countryside round about. England isn't very big though, Do you just want to be in one place? I'd suggest a tour to take in more of the country and maybe a trip to Scotland too. I'd forget about Wales though, sheep and hills, boring!

visit the North East of England, we have many beautiful cities, Durham, York, Newcastle, Berwick. We also have great beaches, quaint villages, and the people are friendly, and it is not so crowded, less crime too. It is only a 3 hour train journey from overcrowded London.

You could combine a visit to Bath with a daytrip to Chipping Sodbury .
Wales has gorgeous countryside as does Scotland.
