The husband should have a titer drawn to verify that he has developed immunity to Hep B. Use Condoms until this is verified - why risk it...

Because a person has the HepB vaccination, does not mean the person developed the proper immunity. The only way is to have a blood test done six months after the three innocations. Some times it takes at least a second series to work.

Why take a chance? Use the condom

well isn't that just asking for trouble?

wife needs treatment for Hep-B, which CAN be treated in most cases with anti-virals and time. That's not to say it's a serious disease, it can kill people.

Yes you have the vaccine, but why in god's name would you risk failure? It can be fatal...
Has she had treatment yet? If not, WHY THE HELL NOT? Has she been treated, but the infection has come back? Then go back to the doctor ASAP. Has she been treated, but has just started it? Then just keep it in your pants and wait.

You can know if you're immune if you get the titer shot that shows antibodies were produced by the vaccine
