A controversy has broken out in the U.K. and the U.S. with the media reflecting a debate over an Angelican priest who converted to Hinduism. However, Rev. David Hart finds no contradiction in being identified as a "religious pluralist".

I believe that Hinduism has alot to offer that will make an individual a better individual regardless of their belief. The Hindu system is universal in it's acceptibility of all beliefs as byproducts of divinity hence no conversion. Everyone is born a Hindu conceptually by nature until they get converted to something else by people. I believe Mr. Hart will will become a better Christain by practising Hindusim. Plus, Hindus believe in Avatars and some would even accept Christ as an Avatar just like the other 10 classical Avatars. There is nothing wrong in "understanding about God" regardless of what one believes because there is always opportunities to grow and be complete. "May God bless All!" and "Let there be peace everywhere!".

Hinduism does not contradict any religions and no one gets converted to Hinduism because it has all to do with spiritualism. Hinduism is not like Islam, Christian or Judaism were upon people are converted and dogmatised. Hinduism is for peace and it's been around for 6000 yrs before garden of Edan began.

LOL--this is why Christianity is such a violent religion. It is a jealous faith, requiring its adherents to kill off, ostracize, or at minimum attempt to convert anyone who doesn't believe solely and completely in it as their only path to God.

It's even true that Christians believe that all non-Christians will go to hell, which they use to act superior at minimum and to discriminate against nonbelievers for the most part. Some still practice religious persecution!

All religion is superstition. At least Hinduism isn't violent, exclusionary, cruel superstition. I wish the Rev. Hart well, and if he's managed to find more faith, the merrier for him.

He puts his mouth where his Hart is.

It is said that whatever you believe as an Anglican you will always find at least one other Anglican who agrees with you.

Understood with wisdom, Christ's teachings are fully compatible with Hindu ones. Nor is there any conflict with the C of E creed, though of course Hart has to tiptoe through "only begotten son of God". But then, the creed says "born of the virgin Mary" and Jenkins, the former Bishop of Durham, said he didn't believe in the virgin birth & kept his job.

Since when have Christians become so intolerant? The views expressed here so far do not reflect the majority moderate views.
The people answering here are mostly hardliners with no life outside. The moderates are not so worried about expressing a view. It is in their nature not to.
Hinduism in not so fundamentally different to Christianity. In fact the early youth of Lord Jesus was spent in the 'East'. Where might this be?
The views expressed so far are, in themselves, not Christian.
These people are no different to the terrorist calling themselves Muslim.

He was a priest for so long, so many years, teaching faith and life of Jesus to so many people. Now he has found a way to understand himself and his relation to God, He sees no difference between different religions and between Christ and Kristna. Only Few are able to reach such height of self-realization. When he is able to pass the message of love, these politicians are ready to "Curify" him now.

He says, He has learned more and understood the meaning of christianity. If he finds no problem in adressing christian people teaching the meaning of love and faith to people, whats wrong with these people. He has understood the meaning of faith and the God's love. Christianity seems like a dictatorship which gives no freedom to people to understand things and understand them. Its like a military office that if u do not follow him, and you will go to hell. I do not see any difference between these politicians and Hitlar itself. These people will politicise this issue so much, they have done so much in past, have taken innocent lives and killed in name of Jesus for their selfish reasons. Let people live their life.

I think that it is absolutely not right. A man cannot serve two masters, and I don't think a true Christian would want to listen to his teachings!
