Do you think it might be a reference to the dinosaurs?

By the wordage of Gen. 6:4, it is likely that the Nephalim were on the earth at the time the angels had relations with human women...implying that they are not likely a reference to the offspring of these marriages.

Some people believe they were just human but giants, as in tall, some people beleive they are angels. As for me, this is my position on this: There is a book, called the Book of Enoch, its a non-cannonical book. In that book it talks about the Nephilim. It all starts with the 'Gregori', these are angels called 'The watchers'. Their job is to watch over men, yet they lust over the daughters of men and marry them. Then they gave birth to giants, which are called the Nephilim.

I have one question on my position though that I still don't have the answer.. the Nephilim were there before the flood, and they were also after the flood, when Joshua and Caleb is spying on Canaan, the Anakites, the descendants of the Nephilim..

When fallen angels had sex with women, the race of Nephilim were created. The Nephilim were giants, and Goliath was one of them.

To those who doubt the existance of giants... the Guiness Book of World Records "tallest man in the world" stood a mere 1 foot and about 3 inches (give or take) shorter than Goliath.

The word Nephilim is from a root meaning "to fall", indicating that they were strong men who "fell" on others in the sense of overpowering them (The only other use of this term is in Num. 13:33). They were already in the earth when "mighty men" and "men of renown" were born. The fallen ones are not the offspring from the union in Gen. 6:1,2

They are supposed to be the offspring of the "Watchers", the beings sent to Earth to look over us and the human females they mated with, consequently causing their master(s) to be a little cross...to put it mildly!

By the way, there are plenty of other, non biblical sources that mention the Nephilim, usually referring to them by the root of the name "Nephilim". Happy hunting! (remember though, "ignorance is bliss")

:)

I have no clue as to what the"Nephilim" might have been. Where did you encounter a reference to them? In any event, if it has anything to do with Genesis, the tale is fiction.

The children of male angels and human females.

Definately a dinosur reference. It was the only means they had of explaining these huge bones they were finding.
