Hey dee9166,

This is the best I have. Many are pay sites. Keep trying the free stuff. You may eventually decide to pay, just to save time. If his phone is unlisted, you will have to pay - and then it is a maybe.

Also, try Vital Records for adoptions, but you need to know what state - adoptions are done by state law.

PS - I fixed the broken links.

do you know his name? and do you know where he might live or where you were born?
there are online telephone directories (white pages)
you could see if there is a newspaper that serves that area where he comes from and place a small ad or write to the paper and see if they would publish it (I am looking for John Smith who would be about X years old and is from Smithville, or any family members) although he might not appreciate being found out in this manner, depending on the circumstances.
you could write to the hospital you were born in and see if they have records with that information on it, or get a full copy or your birth certificate from the city or country records archive, which has to have some information on it. you can email me privately if you want to have more details. i have done some genealogical research, although in my case it was on people that had passed away already. but i might be able to give you some ideas.

If you decide to hire a locator service, see if they will handle the case on a 'no locate - no fee' basis. In other words, if they find him then you pay. If they don't and can't verify his address/phone then you are NOT charged. You shouldn't have to pay more than $100 (USD) for this service.

Go to the American Government Department responsible for such records and good luck.

If you can narrow his location to a city and state, you may be able to find him on Zabasearch.com
