i agree with you. I am the last one to believe in the old blood is thicker than water bs. It seems at times family will hurt you worse than someone in the street. I tend to stay away from mine. I would rather love them from afar than deal with the fooliness.

I noticed that any time you live with someone, there is often conflict even if you got along prior.

It may be due to the fact when most people don't know you so well and it is easier to think they are nicer because you don't see them as they really are but more superficially. It is easier to see their flaws as you know them so in depth.

Still based on my own experience no one has been meaner to me or hurt me more (except perhaps ex husband) than family members.

But I do have one out of five siblings that's a friend and pretty good (although he occasionally upsets me) and one pretty good one.

I tend to look to others and think why is my family so mean an dis functional and every one else's so great, but when you look at how awful some families are, it reminds you it could be worse but my experience has been they are genuinely not nice and rarely recognize my many good things like others do and all this can definitely lead to feeling like you hate them sometimes.

Maybe not thinking about the bad they do and trying to remember those times they were nice and reminding yourself..they could be dead tomorrow suddenly and then you might miss them and wish you tried harder might help you take the first steps to trying to improve things..

Because they know you so well. Remember that they are your best friends as well because of the fact that they know you so well. It depends on how you and your family deal with each other.

They are the ones that love you the most, so they hurt you the most. They know what makes you happy, but also knows what can break you down.

Another teenager who isn't getting her way whining about life being unfair while her parents feed, and shelter her lazy, disrespectful behind.

Don't worry, when the light finally comes on (hopefully), you'll see why they did what they do...
