Well...on the first initial visit...you might have to accept that he does not know you well enough yet to properly diagnose you...YOu have voiced your concerns to him...and he is probably concerned about withdrawals...and he is probably right..they might just make it worse for you I am glad that he hasn't really given you a diagnosis and new meds, after thinking about it..because he could make you feel worse, and not better...So, the New meds that have n't been tried and true there, they might have new ones there that haven't been used here that are even better...Don't be impatient...all people want their help to come immediatly...But if you don't 'gel' with him after a few visits...tell him nicely that you want to go to some one else...I would also ask why they didn't let you see the actual doctor...Hang in there he might turn out to be just the guy you want after reading your interview..Good luck

Ahh that is bad...

I could ask if u have gone to see another doctor...but I think that would be too obvious right?

The thing is, maybe ur psychiatrist think medication can have another undesire effects. I think u have to be under observation a long time before they are sure how ur body and mind reacts to some medication before they change it.

And this concern of u can be nothing but a result of ur anxiety...
What I mean is: if u were healthy u might not be so nerveous about it. Pls take it easy, now u know that u have a problem, try to understand ur judgments are affected by this desorder.

I really admire u for posting ur doubts here and sure I will pray for u tonight.

Sounds to me like you definetely need a new psychiatrist. I understand the urge to get a diagnosis, it's something to hold on to, something that makes sense versus just symptoms.
Personality disorders are in my opinion mental health problems, so don't underestimate that diagnosis from the past.
Here are two websites that might help you, one where you can find signs and symptoms for all major mental disorders and one for all personality disorders.

As a long-time sufferer of personality disorders, mental health problems, and depression, I can say that I sympathize with you on this.
But I also know that meds will only take you so far. God and mood altering drugs are alike in that respect. They help those that help themselves.
Perhaps the medication you are on is sufficient, if you learn how to deal with the problems you have.
In my case, I learned to change my behaviours so that I was no longer seen as anti-social. Then I learned to recognize other symptoms that I don't want to go into, and deal with them on a case by case basis.
Sorry that I can't be more help, but I'm not a Dr. so I can't change your medication for you. :P

I know exaclty what your going through.I was also diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.I was put on Paxil cr and it made even crazier.I was like a lump sleeping all the time not caring about anything. My therapist wouldn't give me medication because most people with my disorder commit suicide and she thought taking pills would give me ideas.I never got to talk about any of my problems she would just ask me mundane questions like does you tv talk to you.I quit therapy and am on no medicine and I think its just getting worse.I don't think there is a cure for people like us.The only suggestion I have is find another therapist.Or get meds from your family doctor.

Go see another psychiatrist. You should have another professional either confirm your present doctor's diagnosis and treatment plan or offer alternatives. Stay calm -- you are getting help. And listen to your present doctor as well. It may be that he isn't saying the things you think he is saying. . . make sure your understanding is accurate before you make comparisons. Good luck. I hope you get the help you need.

Your doctor is right. At the same time try to help yourself by believing that nothing is wrong with you that you are just imagining does conditions you mentioned and try to have enough sleep.Try it and it will work for you.

Sounds like your doc is right. But there is always a second option in the form of second opinion.
