Maybe he just saw the utters one say and thought they looked so soft, like just they felt so good, and he just HAD to touch them. So he did. He touched them, then then he squeezed them, and then...

Watching it feed it's calf. Most likely the human mother had died and no other woman was capable or willing to nurse the human baby and someone suggested getting milk from the cow. In actuality it may not have been a cow, it may have been a ewe or an nanny goat.

Maybe the farmer watched the baby cows suckle milk and he wanted to have a turn.

Well, it was not necessarily cows who were the firs milk-giving animals to be discovered by men, but you should consider the fact that this man himself must have been sucking from his mother... so it was not a great discovery, it was just application of what he has learned in his childhood..
And it could not have been a farmer, in the full sense... I belive he discovered the milk before starting to breed the animal...

He was probably getting ready for a big feast, The ancients used to use fermented milk as an alcoholic beverage. Today the closest we have is "Bailey's Irish Cream" mmm!
Which brings up another question, if a lactating woman gets drunk does her breast milk contain alcohol?
