my mate thinks so but i dont agree they are 2 totally different types of food

No way. Pizza crust has a much different texture, and while ketchup has tomatoes in it, it also has a lot of things that pizza sauce doesn't, like vinegar.

They taste similar but are to different things. The toast is just a faster way instead of making the pizza.

Pizza bases aren't made out of bread, they're made from dough.
If you put ketchup on instead of sauce it'd taste pretty horrible. The minimum you could get away with is tomato paste.


Not that there's anything wrong with ketchup toasties!!

if it was tomato puree on the base yes but not ketchup, try it with a dash of worcester sauce

Near enough for me, and much nicer than those Italian pancakes that people call pizza.

Similar principle, but VERY different materials. Though, I speculate that you'll have a difficult time convincing your mate of it.

no but add dried basil and ye have something.... interestingly unlike close to being entirly not pizza.

although the raw ingredients seem the same in essence how you put them together is what happens.
