Coincidence? I think not.

Jesus almost certainly died while impaled on a simple stake, rather than a cross of two intersecting beams. Of course the Romans had the ability to create such devices, and probably did. But ask yourself: why they would have bothered when a simple stake would have worked just as well or better?

It is also enlightening to examine other relevant Scriptures.

You may be interested to see how your own copy of the bible translates Acts 5:30, Galatians 3:13, Deuteronomy 21:22, 23, and Acts 10:39. The King James, Revised Standard, Dyaglott, and Jerusalem Bible translate the instrument of Christ's death simply as "stake" or "tree" because the original wording simply does not support the idea that this was more than a piece of upright wood.

It is also eye-opening to examine how the first-century Christians felt about idols of any kind, much less one that glorified an instrument of death.

Anybody can fool himself if he does not want to believe anything that could help him grow spiritually. In you rcase, you should consult Mr. Webster for the correct spelling and meaning of the word, otherwise such a word is the product of your peabrain. You fool yourself that's up to you, but you cannot come close to fooling God just because you do not want to believe in Him. Dread the day when you'd in the threshold of death and nobody can save you to live for another day. Mark my word: you'll utter the Name "Jesus Christ" to plead for an 'extension' of your life on earth. Crucifiction? my friend you have just 'crucified' Him again because of your callous heart. Spell the word correctly' it's no coincident that you and I have been saved by His dying on the cross because He loves you and I. May God have mercy on you and your loved ones.

Actually, it's Crucifixion, and it's not just a coincidence. Many people, not only Jesus, were crucified for crimes against the Roman government. It is one of the most inhumane ways to die ever contrived by the mind of man. Stanford University Medical Center did some research on the effects this torturous death would have on the human body and the effects were staggering, leading ultimately to death by organ failure and asphyxiation. The very word "crucify" comes from the Latin root "crucifare", meaning "to torture", so I'd think twice about belittling ANYONE, especially Christians of that day who were put to death in such a manner!

Hey girl, you're a tricky one to deal with, I can see that. I think you might be a formidable opponent if one gets on the wrong side of you, and I think you can be really sarcastic and contemptuous of others if you want to.

But how long did it take you to make that one up? And what's upset you so much in life, that you want to demolish (if indeed that is possible, which it isn't!) other people's faith and beliefs? What bad experiences in life have left you scarred, so that you need to get your kicks from such scornful remarks.

And....what if you're wrong? What then? I wouldn't want to stand before God and answer to this one.

So do you think He was never applied to the wood? Or that he survived a Roman execution? Are you calling Him a liar? or a legend? There is a reason for the Details window. Why not explain your own thoughts on the issue? Or are you just a bomb thrower?

Jesus Christ died for your sins. He will not force you to accept His gift. You are free to reject Him. The consequences of rejecting Christ is eternal seperation from God. We are eternal beings because we are made in God's image. Without Christ, you will face an eternity described as Hell- a place of wailing and gnashing of teeth where the worm never dies. I'm not trying to scare you. I'm informing you of the consequences of your choice.

Scholar after scholar has undertaken "The Quest for the Historic Jesus". ALL have come up empty! Fact is, there is NO historian of the time who even mentions Jesus at all, which is kind of odd for a guy who supposedly drew huge crowds to his preaching, and who performed all sorts of miracles. Christians like to cite Josephus, but the passage in his writing that refers to Jesus was planted there later by some Christian, and since Josephus was born after the alleged time of Jesus he provides no firsthand eyewitness confirmation of the existence of Jesus.
