he has got little lumps around his muzzle and mouth there is no head on them that i can see they are quite hard and they dont look like bites from the other pups, and the other pups dont seem to have any, i have foned the vet and they said to take him through but i dont want to as they have been handreared and only had the mothers milk for the first 20 mins or so,the vet said they could be boils but there are quite a few,he is eating and drinking and running around,so if anyone has any idea as to what they are i would be very gratefull for any ideas how to treat them at home, plus he is the biggest pup so i dont think he is getting bullied,

If they are not whiskers, they may be something else.

There's something called, "puppy acne"-
Quote---- "Puppy acne and a related condition, called impetigo, are skin conditions that affect dogs under one year. Both are caused by a bacterial infection.Puppy acne will appear on your dog's chin, while impetigo occurs on her tummy. Both look very similar to human acne. Sometimes the bumps will be tiny, but in other cases they will be filled with pus. It's possible to fight these acne infections with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide soap (rinse well!) or by dabbing on 70% isopropyl alcohol. However, these may also irritate some dogs who have sensitive skin. And some dogs will make matters worse by scratching and infecting the bumps even more.Just like human teenagers, your dog may "outgrow" puppy acne once she gets older. But some dogs can develop a persistent acne infection. Your dog may need antibiotics or prescription strength topical medications to knock out the problem. If your young dog develops red acne-like bumps that make her miserable, talk with your vet."

It could also be the beginning of demodex. Although, the fact the pups barely nursed from the mother LEADS me away from demodex.
OR--- It could be a latex or rubber related allergy, perhaps related to the rubber nipples you might have used to nurse the pups.. If you are using bottles and not droppers feed them.
Check out the links and I really really hope this helps.

EDIT------ My Dane had a slight case of "acne" and it looked nothing like human zits. He just had little hard bumps that eventually appeared to break. There was no redness until they "broke". And they didn't have heads on them either. My vet gave me a cream and told me to avoid human acne meds because they have artificial things added.

I agree with the last few people. You should NEVER get a pup younger than 8 weeks of age. My Shih tzu had a litter back in May and we did not let a single pup go until they were 8 wks old, even though some of the new owners wanted to take their pups home at 7 wks, I refused to let them leave before they were 8 wks. My pups didn't even start to eat solid food until they were almost 5 wks old and I would grind it up for them and mix a little evaporated milk with it to make it almost the consistency of canned food for the first week or 2 they were on the solid food and mom was still feeding them a couple times a day as well. I wanted to make sure the pups were eating well before they went off to their new homes; also they were all dewormed and had their 1st shots before leaving. I feel so sorry for your puppy for being taken away from Mom and it's littermates so soon, I too think I would take it back to the breeder and demand they keep the pup for a few more weeks, in most states I believe it is illegal to sale a pup that young.

Are you sure they aren't just where the whiskers are attached? If not, you may want to have your vet LOOK at them to make sure it's not an allergic reaction. I've seen many dogs with bumps on their muzzle/chin that are an allergic reaction to using plastic bowls and toys. The best kind of bowl is a stainless steel bowl.

should not have a muzzle on your dog unless you are taking it out for a walk and even then you only put a muzzle on if he bits if he does not bite please do not put a muzzle on your dog then he will not get lumps

my dog had "acne" from using the steel bowls....the metal combined with the food and water caused his little face to break out.....if this is the case, try switching to a plastic bowl, such as a crock

Mark your an idiot, shut up...

Anyways, my puppy had a couple of these on her head, and they just went away, but I'd go to the vet and have them check it out.

they could be from where the wiskers come out. you should go to the vet in case it is something that could transmitted to the other pups.

these are hair follicles, and in a few weeks time whiskers will be sprouting out of them,so leave them alone or they will turn into boils
