I contacted the ACLU on Monday for help. You see, they are forcing my Daughter to learn about evolution in 8th grade earth science class. This strictly goes against hers and most of the other students personal beliefs. The ACLU informed me quite firmly that they could only help me if they also made her learn about Creation. Why are they so hypocritical?

I don't know.

I once contacted the ACLU about banning the statues of Themis (Justice) and Libertas (Liberty) from around the nation's courthouses and monuments, and having the Apotheosis of Washington removed from the capital. (Mind you, this was when the 10 Commandments were removed from the Alabama courthouse).

They never responded.

"Promote atheism, endorse paganism as art and symbols, forbid Christianity in all forms" is their motto I suppose.

1) Because as it is SCIENCE class schools have to teach something SCIENTIFIC such as Evolution. I know of no other scientific theory that could be taught. (Creationism is religious and Intelligent Design is religious or Philosophical but both are not scientific).
2) Your same exact argument could be used for why we don't teach Spanish in English class.
3) The ACLU uphold the Bill of Rights...there is nothing in them to ban science or scientific theories. Now they said they could help with Creationism or Intelligent Design since as those are not scientific it would violate the US Constitution.
4) Why don't you pull your kid out of school since you don't want her to get real learning.

TIM:: U are just so wrong that I now firmly believe there is no hope for the human race...I mean wow to get definitions wrong as well as know nothing about evolution....I didn't think there were Dark Ages people left but there you are

I used to screen cases for the Indiana branch of the ACLU. They get all types of requests from people asking them to represent them, and they have to be very selective. We had several categories we would place the requests in, such as recommending that the case be considered, recommending that they contact independent counsel, that they go to Legal Services or a public defender, or even that no action be taken. The last would only include the very unusual cases, such as the old lady who complained that somehow people were breaking into her apartment and rearranging things around her favorite chair, even though she had a burglar alarm. Most likely, the ACLU considered your case to be one which was not a violation of the First Amendment, since evolution is widely considered to be a scientific fact. They do not take every case which the individual considers to be a violation They have only limited funding, so most likely they encouraged you to seek independent counsel.

The ACLU already lost this case in PA.

You just can't accept that the world was created according to Chapter 1 and 2 of Genesis and Satan persuaded Adam and Eve to betray God and obey Satan's word. You were not happy enough that the Supreme Court threw out school prayer in 1962 but now Satan wants his agenda plastered in every American schoolroom. Someday, all of this will stop. The poor are starving and the oppressed remain further oppressed....

Because the ACLU was created by Communists to promote the Communist agenda. (No, I'm not kidding.) Anything that Communism is for, the ACLU is for. When anyone hears of ACLU actions, think of it as Communism in action and it will give better insight to the reasoning behind the issue.

Support the ACLJ instead of the ACLU.

The ACLU (Americans Communist Lawyers Union) is against freedom of religion. Their religion of evolution/atheism didn't last in a private school, so they have christians paying for it in public schools

What is wrong with learning about ALL the theories out there? Don't you want your daughter to have a broad knowledge of different views on creation--or are you just interested in keeping her ignorant? I think you need to examine YOUR motives here.

Furthermore, there is nothing stopping you from pulling her out of that school and putting her into a private Christian school. Why should the ACLU come in and screw it up for everyone else at that school just because of how YOU feel?

Evolution is a religion because it has to taken by faith.
The government is pushing for this to be our national religion.

Religion by definition is any guiding set of beliefs or rules, evolution says that there is no God, so we can do what we want and have no everlasting consequences.

Evolution is science with empirical evidence, thousands of fossil records and thousands of scientists who do nothing but study it and evaluate it's authenticity.

That's real science and you should look at it objectively instead of through religious colored glasses

Evolution does exist.

If you do not wish your child to be in a school that teaches evolution then your response should be, very simply, transfer her to a school that will teach her what you wish. Or better yet homeschool her
