No. I believe it is down to factors such as chance, luck, personal decisions and outlook.
Personally, there is NEVER a "bad" moment in my life, as I can always see the "silver lining" on any such "cloud". But that's just a matter of having an optimistic outlook.

I believe there is no difference because both die. However, atheists are far better people because they rely more on intelligence, rather than superstition and faith - whatever it is.
