The Scriptures relate that Almighty God particularly blessed this young woman by choosing her to be the mother of Jesus. Jesus’ birth was unique in that Mary was a virgin when she conceived him. Certain churches of Christendom have long reserved a special veneration for Mary. In 431 C.E., the Council of Ephesus proclaimed her “Mother of God,” and today many people are taught to pray to her.
The Gospel account of Luke records that one of Jesus’ disciples requested of him: “Lord, teach us how to pray.” In response, Jesus began: “Whenever you pray, say, ‘Father, let your name be sanctified.’” During his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus likewise instructed his followers to pray: “Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.”—Luke 11:1, 2; Matthew 6:9.
The first thing we learn, then, is that prayer, or worshipful address, should be directed to Jesus’ Father, who is Jehovah. Nowhere does the Bible authorize us to pray to anyone else.

First thing frst. Who is the God here? If Jesus is the Son of God, mary would be the Mother of God and Jehovah would be the God? Its confusing! How could be a Man be a God? If a God can made a virgin to conceive, the God must be a supreme being and very much sophistocated than Man. God could grant special power to whoever God wish. So none of these human....Jesus, Mary or Jehovah deserved to be prayed to. They are human like us. Come on guys wake up! You've been blinded by the adulterated Bible for centuries.... it is time to look for the truth! Why on earth you need to go through someone to pray to God? You can pray directly to God and cut all thos Jesus statues crap.... these are all irrelevant.

I pray to god. I talk to Mary and the Saints. Now mind you, praying and talking take the exact same form. When I say the Our father or the Hail Mary, I'm speaking out loud, but one is praying and the other is talking. Its kind of a silly distinction, isn't it?

If you pray to Mary - your prayers will not be heard - Mary was the Mother of Jesus - Jesus is the Savior of mankind - not Mary.
Only God can hear your prayers and you have to pray through Jesus to get to God. Any other way will get you no-where. Mary would not want you to Pray to her - she cannot help you.

Well, God says put no one before me..do not worship statues. My advice, If you want to go to hell...go ahead, If not, let it be. I don't have a on hold God. I have a direct line straight to my Father...I don't get put on hold, transfered, or nothing...I have a straight phone line to talk to him. All I need to do is call His name. Then He is right there....Why would I need to talk to Mary. She is only mentioned during the birth and the death of Jesus. That is it. God says that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father..not Mary.
He also states that NO ONE comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ His Son....Not Mary. God Bless..

No! This would be breaking the VERY FIRST Commandment!
In the Bible, it states many times, that we arent to worship anyone or anyTHING but God.
Leviticus 19:4
"Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the LORD your God."
Leviticus 26:1
"Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God."
God wants and should get, all the Glory. When we turn to a graven image, or anyone but God for help and with praise, we are taking from God.
Just remeber- Mary was just a woman, a tool God uses, chosen to give birth to Jesus... but, she was just a person... yes, chosen by God to do a great task for Him, but still mortal, like you and I. Not anything more. We are not to bow down to her or make statues praising and praying to her. Where is that in the Bible we are to have a "mediator" to get to God? Or thank other sources than our Father?
Why worship her when we can go straight to the source!?
I actually wrote a BLOG on this at:

"well Mary should be prayed to intercede for us here on earth because she is an entirely unique person,Like her Son,she was conceived as a human being exempt from any trace of original sin,she also remained free from personal sin during her life. She conceived gave birth to and nurished Christ, she presented him to the Father in the temple, shared his sufferings on the cross,,,for this reason she is a mother to all of us in the order of grace."
Sorry to burst your bubble man but "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god. (Romans 3:23)" God certainly did not venerate Mary. I wonder who did..

Yes that is correct, that we are to pray to our Father and to ask our Father for things in Jesus name (authority or permission).
When Elizabeth blessed Mary, Mary told Elizabeth that it was Jesus who was special, even that He was her savior.

The question assumes that Mary was a virgin, therefore the question is invalid. When any philosophy is based on assumption, the whole of the philosophy comes into question. When you permit archaic superstition to become the driving force in your life, you have forfeited your humanity, not to mention the concept of intelligent thought.

Praying to mary is a catholic phenomenon. Like you said, Jseus told us to pray to the Father, and I don't have a clue as to why catholics revere mary the way they do. God also particularly blessed Abraham, but catholics don't pray to him, so I don't understand the reasoning behind it. I just know I don't do it. The catholics call it intercessionary prayer, but I always thought God wanted a personal relationship with me, so when I talk to Him, it's just Him and me. I don't need a cathloic appointed middleman.
