Pregnancy in cats and dogs is hard to diagnose until about 6 weeks into the 58-64 day gestational period. An ultrasound may be performed at around 5-6 weeks to count babies. You want to take the cat to the vet if she starts getting larger and the vet will be able to feel if there are any kittens. Look for signs of labor to include panting (yes, cats will pant), nesting (shredding up paper or other things to make a soft bed), decreased socialization, and a drop in basal temperature. If your cat is outside, get her inside to give birth and care for the babies. Feed the cat kitten food if you suspect she is pregnant, and she will need to be fed kitten food until the babies are weaned.

A cat should "pink" 3-4 weeks after conception. Nipple will start to appear distended and bright pink. By week 5, noticeable weightgain might be apparent and gently palpating the uterus you may feel hard lumps that will feel like...well...hard lumps. They are kitten skulls....It's not rocket science. If in doubt...a vet can do an x-ray.

It is extremely difficult for an untrained person to tell. Generally it takes a trip to the vet for the vet to scope them for you to positive. My kitty had what I considered to be a bigger belly and I thought she was pregnant (she was a stray that I took in so I had no idea) she even had larger nipples. One trip to the vet and he let me know that she was not pregnant. So it is going to be hard for you to guage. Good luck.

the butt is all swollen, she is getting bigger, she doesn't like it when you pick her up, and if you make her a box with a cover over it (like a sheet) she would go in it and lay down, and she will always try to get your attention and won't want to go outside anymore also she will now go into heat... but be careful if she shows these symptoms she could also be having a false pregnancy...hope this helps:)

Lets see:

If she's a moody ***** who one minute is happy and content the other, going postal over nothing.

If her feet....er....paws swell up.

If her boobs...er....what do cats have?.... swell up....

If she's eating anything not nailed down to the floor....things that would make a goat puke such as snickers bars dipped in mayo.

Oh... you meant cats huh....

if she stops going into heat...
you can and should spay your cat - even if she is pregnant

THOUSANDS of kittens are destroyed every day because there are simply not enough homes... even if you find homes for yours that means somebody else did not... it is estimated that only 20% of "free to good home" kittens actually find good homes..

please do the cat world a favor and spay her....
