When your tummy throws a tantrum, be prepared with herbal remedies that work.
It's probably safe to say that modern people are governed more strictly by their stomachs than their brains. They think with their stomachs and trust 'gut' feelings. The way to their hearts, some say, is through their stomachs. If this is true, then they will learn to love herbal medicine, because the plant world has a plethora of remedies for what ails their most precious organs.

The dreaded stomachache can be caused by gas buildup, overindulgence, rapid changes in blood sugar, or infection. Tackle the pain with tea. Pair chamomile with angelica and lemon verbena for a light flavor, or chickory root, sassafras and horehound for a more earthy, strong taste. Catnip and hops also alleviate the pain.

If stomach pains tend to follow meals of fibrous foods, gas is probably the culprit. Counteract it by chewing caraway seeds or adding dill, anise, lovage or fennel to the meal.

Nausea can be treated with that old friend, mint , as a tea or in food. Sweet basil, corriander and dill have similar properties. If the nausea is brought on by motion sickness, try cayenne pepper in an oil suspension, pill, or food.

If indegestion plagues the little ones, administer a tea of dandelion leaf or root. It can be blended with horehound or lemon balm to improve the flavor.

Remember to take stomachaches seriously. They can be a symptom of a larger underlying problem. If the pain is sudden, severe, or recurring, or if there is no apparent cause, see a licensed healthcare practitioner.

If modern man thinks with his stomach, perhaps he will gravitate toward herbal remedies. After all, they offer pure relief with fewer side effects. They are more likely to taste good, are practical and portable, and offer options to suit every family. They are also less expensive, which may speak to the second-most popular thing he thinks with... his pocketbook.

1. Remove yourself from the cause of your upset stomach if you can identify it. Nausea from motion sickness or foul fumes often goes away quickly on its own.

2. Drink ginger ale or chamomile or peppermint tea if you've overeaten or have the flu. They should all soothe your stomach.

3. Drinking cola works well for some people, too.

4. Take antacids for heartburn. Alka-Seltzer, Maalox, Mylanta, Rolaids and Tums can all be purchased over the counter. They make you feel better by neutralizing the acid in your stomach. Keep in mind that they may cause constipation or diarrhea with overuse.

5. Try Pepto-Bismol if you've got diarrhea along with your upset stomach.

6. Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, aspirin and ibuprofen, since they can exacerbate nausea.

Peppermint is the best NATURAL solution. Peppermint candy, Peppermint Tea, Peppermint Ice Cream, or MY favorite (I have an ulcer and it really helps alot) Put a Peppermint Candy or add Peppermint Oil to Sprite...MmmmmmMMmmmmm

For non-natural, Zantac seems to work the best for me. But the Dr told me to only take one a day, which is why I use Peppermint until bedtime.

room temp. sprite/7-up/ginger ale
Peptobismol
baking soda mixed w/ water

if constipated =rub ur stomach in a circle to ur left
if diarrehea = rub ur stomach in a circle to ur right
(this helps the natural flow of bowels to neutralize without taking anything)
I hope this helps...

Some sort of carbonated beverage (ginger ale or sprite works best), bananas, taking warm baths, and staying away from coffee, onions, cauliflower, chocolate, fried foods and baked beans (because they cause gas)

Hope that helps...

Depends. For heartburn, try a soda bicarb. When I'm nausious, I use Pedialight. It sounds silly, but it works for me.
