I have to agree.
I am a Christian, I dont attend church.
I tried church a few times, I got the same feeling.
We dont need church to claim Christianity.
The churches I personally have attended left me feeling like I was in an institution not a fellowship.

I understand your problem because when we attend a church i believe we go to be in fellowship with others who feel the same as ourselves in regards to how much we Love God, and Love sharing that truth, and worshiping together, and at least having others to relate to or we may become an island and not find inspiration from others for our faith to grow.
I believe people need people to inspire each other especially we need pastors to teach us Gods word.
Granted there is allot of on line schools for the hearing of Gods word and Iam not here to judge, but i would rather be present at the hearing of perhaps a church play done by the youth or something to that nature-live opposed to internet just seems a little disconnected.
If anyone believes he can find a church that is without hypocrite's then maybe he is one himself?
No offense, just asking myself this question.
I have found that it helps to ask the Holy Spirits help when i may find myself under anothers ridicule, or condemnation, or judgement and all seems to be blotted out, and i find myself in peace to worship no matter who is around.
I dont know, we are all differant, and to each his own.
I do not think there is anything wrong with worshiping alone as long as we do indeed worship for He is certainly worthy.
God Bless

There will never be a perfect church. We are all hypocrites and sinners. Worship where your heart leads you. That's between you and God. Fellowship is good, but if you can't stand the people, then it's not doing YOU any good. Find the church that believes the most closely to what you believe in your heart. Hopefully, there will then be a lot of common ground between you and the people there.

I often say that some churches are in the money making business rather than being in the soul saving business. But that's why it's so important to know your Bible and read it aside from going to church and listening to the pastor. A church is supposed to help guide you through your walk in faith amongst other things. The Bible talks about hypocrisy in the church and mentions how one should not be a fool, but to take care of your important needs first and then give to the church with the income that God has blessed you with.
One of the problems is that there's sooooooo many people who are so busy looking at others and how they live their lives (and possibly relying on others on a spiritual basis) that they put their own faith and their own walk with God in jeopardy by straying away from the church, and doing exactly what the Bible says not to do, judge others.

I think you should find a new church.
My church doesn't do any of what you are saying - look around - you need the fellowship with other Christians and it is also a time of worship and learning when you are at church.
Try to get involved with a group around the same age as you - like a Sunday school group or something.

I totally agree thats why I believe that God is in your hearts not of the church. The church is a good place for fellowship but God is within you not anything external. I see too many giving there power away to these businesses.

Church is not neccessary to be a good follower of God, but it does help you grow as a Christian. The teachings a church offers can help further you in your spirituality and being surrounded by people who share your same beliefs can help as well. Sometimes it's hard to find a church that is right for you. If you don't think this is possible, try to get a bible study together at your house with a group of friends. Remember, church is not a building, it is a gathering.

I do understand where you are coming from. I have to been buildings like that myself. I have searched for a group of believers that go totally by the bible and that everyone is treated the same. I state it this way becuase we all ned to understand that the church is the body of bewlievers not the building that we meet together in. Jesus refers to us all as the church. But back to the type of people that you want to be around when you are worshipping God. The group of believers that iI attend with are truly God believing individuals that all think alike. Newcomers are warmly welcomed and made to feel comfortable right away. In fact our pastor asks us to introduce ourselves to them and help to make them feel welcome It is great and we are growing in numbers. I hope you can continue to try and find a group of elievers that I have. If I had a wish I would make it so all that feel like you had our body of believers close to you so you could worship with us and feel the holy psirirt at work. It is beautiful and filled with the holy spirit. And no one is put down if they have no money to give in fact there is no plate passed around ever. and children are welcome in the adulr services even though there is a nursery and childrens classes. May the Lord guide you to a place like ours where you can be you and do not have to dress up or be made to feel unconfrotable. with Love in the Lord Jesus Christ. May the Lord Bless You.

Find a church where all that nonsense does not happen. You need to worship with other believers for support and fellowship. You also need to be accountable for what you do and this accountability comes from being with other believers. Sure, every christian needs to spend quiet time with God but fellowship brings growth in your life. We need to be in a chirch because it is there that we make up the body of Christ.

Change churches. Why not try out a different one each Sunday until you find one you are comfortable with? Different ones have different slants on things and different philosophical views - they're not all the same. You can worship on your own - there's nothing wrong with that - but part of what I find satisfying about a church service in particular is the fellowship and friendship you get from it.
