I've heard that Listerine can leave the mouth dried out, so I was wondering it it would still be okay to use this (or any alcohol-based mouthwashes) after getting my tooth pulled yesterday. I haven't done anything yet and just want to make sure before I do something foolish.

no no no! no alcohol based mouthrinses for the first few days after having a tooth pulled. Warm salt water is all you need. The alcohol dries out your mouth AND can dry up the clot that is forming in the socket. If it dries up and/or falls out, you will get dry socket. So hold off on the listerine for at least a week.

Ah, can't beat what the dentist just said and I totally agree because I work for an oral surgeon. Salt water rinses 4-5 times a day(especially after meals) the following day after extractions. Don't rinse at all on the 1st day. Day 3 you should be using a syringe to gently flush out any food that lodges in those areas. You can fill the syringe with warm salt water too. 1/2 tsp table salt with 1 cup warm water.

Cut it with water. Make the ratio 1 part Listerine and 4 parts water.
One thing to DEFINITELY stay away form is Hydrogen Peroxide. It will destroy the new tissue growing where you had the extraction.

No.
Don't use listerine right now.
Call the oral surgeon, just in case.
You can use warm salt water to swish it out.

No! Cuz you're not supposed to swish anything around in your mouth cuz it can give you a dry socket!
