A friend of mine was in a night club when his wife was attacked by a drunk woman randomly. Now he happen to be a few feet away and had his back turned, his wife also by no means the" agressive type"went quickly on the floor. He got there as this woman was over his wife about to whooop that a** ,so he instinctivly reacted and clocked the chick. Now so far I have never hit a woman I was raised not to and so far I haven't really been in a situation where my wife was about to be physically hurt.So I thought about and I would have done the same.Does anybody feel that way to.Women would you want your man to protect you no matter the sex of the attacker!

Interesting question. I think personaly, I would prefer it if he would protect me no matter what. But when it comes to another woman, my husband knows I would kick butt, and as it is now, tends to stay out of my way when I get on a rampage lol.
I think if a woman has enough guts to do something like that, then she had better be willing to accept the consequences of her actions. If there is anyone who can't defend themself, why should it matter what sex the attacker is? Women are just as liable as men are if they are being a bully. A bully needs to be dealt with, bottom line.
If his instinct was to get the woman off, then he did it the only way he knew how. The only issue is did he use excessive force? Which would make a world of difference if he had decided to start beating the woman who was attacking. Thats about the only way I can say I wouldn't agree with it.
Otherwise, I think he did the right thing.

Women want equal rights don't they? Well, in my book that includes a fair fight. If the wife is not aggressive and the other woman is than the man or other aggressive woman should step in. If a man hits a woman to protect a weaker person regardless of sex he's a good guy!

I think both parties should protect each other. Given my size (6'0.5"/184# - as of last night when I got on the scale), if anything it will be I who protect my husband rather than vice versa. And yes, I do take that very seriously. I would definitely act to protect a person who was being attacked on the street, regardless of the gender of the parties concerned, even if I had never seen them before and would never see them again - and all the more so (if I had one) the husband I love!

im a man and yes of course i would hit the women. she deserves it. u say u were not brought up to hit women, but can u call actually call the attacker a real women? besides she might seriousely hurt or scar your wife if u dont help, in fact it sounds pathetic not to step in cos ones afraid he might get called a women hitter. what about the poor wife, u cant expect the wife to be a kung fu fighter? and bullying of no form should be tolerated. why should u be a gentleman to a woman like that?

That's a bit extreme, but acceptable if truly necessary. A better way to handle, if you have time and can think rationally, is to simply restrain the attacker by getting behind her and grabbing her arms and forcing her off and away and out the door. But in the heat of the moment things happen. I believe in family first and you should protect those that you love, so he's alright by his actions.

Chick fight!?! I'm sure that's going to grab alot of attention. I understand your dilema and I think most men would have reacted the same way. I know my husband would have. He's a marine and if you even look at me the wrong way, he's staring you down. I've never been in a fight with a woman, but I'm pretty confident that,God forbid, if that day were to ever come, he'd be there.

My husband probably wouldn't have hit her, but I have no doubt he would have pulled her off of me. Lucky for me, she would have been on the bottom because I don't "cat" fight, I kick ***....lol. Her husband didn't do anything wrong though, I mean just hitting a woman would be different, but his adreline was pumping seeing his wife being hurt, so he stepped in, if the other woman didn't want to get hit, she shouldn't have started a fight!

I know you are asking the women, but I as a man would just have pulled the attacking woman off of my wife BY BODILY PICKING HER UP OFF THE FLOOR SO HER FEET DONT TOUCH THE GROUND , without hitting her thats it. thats what men usually do in these situations.

He could have held the woman and then called for help. And by that I mean in a bear-hug or even held her down on the ground if necessary. I don't know if he should have actually hit her. That might have been excessive.

lots of people would think that was wrong since thier are other ways to handle it like take the drunk off of her and call the police but if tables were turned girls hitting boys are a different story. i guess its because boys are stronger then the females but it dont allways work out like that. but yes i would want my husband to protect me cause i would do the same.
