triming ur hair monthly is a good idea. u need to keep ur scalp oiled. no heat from styling equipment and comb ur hair not brush it ur hair can get tangled in the bristle and that causes alot of unnecessary breakage. wear ur hair in styles that require low maintenance and doesnt require u to comb ur hair everyday. but good oiling and stimulation from combing increases the blood flow to ur scalp providing nutrients to ur hair follicles helping ur hair grow and grow healthy.

GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it. Be warned these pills are HUGE and you have to take 2 a day.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health, and is smaller and easier to swallow.
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourshair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results.

triming must be done on a regular basis, but only to keep the appearance nice and remove split ends. i'm a long haired woman myself (nearly down to my waist now) and i trim my hair on average three times a year removing about two or three inches every time (my hair grows on average two inches a month). the amount cut should only depend on your hair type.

cutting hair does nothing for actually growing hair. it only affects the appearance. hair grows from the scalp, and as everything but the root is nothing but dead cells, there's no possible benifical affect for growth with cutting it regularly. for people with very short hair, frequently they do get faster growing hair but that's from scalp stimulation, not from anything actually on the hair.

ok... so on to the next. vitamin supplements are a wonderful thing. all the vitamin b's and folic acid are excellent for hair and hopefully available there fairly easily. here in the united states, it's available in regular pharmacies. i do prenatal vitamins as well (no, i'm not pregnant. they're just high powered vitamins that are over the counter here. don't know about there.)

if you are heat treating or chemically treating your hair, stop. both of those cause the hair to be much weaker and more prone to breaking. if you really want to grow it and you want it to be healthy and good looking, let it go natural. there are ways to deal with any kind of wave or curl without piling up products or treatments that will damage the hair and henna is a great, all natural, non damaging way to dye hair. admittedly, the color selection is limited, but it's not damaging.

I don't know if someone told you this...but try Soy Lecithin.
It is sold in grocery stores, vitamin shops here...it's just a vitamin, so I hope you can find it. It does wonders for hair...I take it for dry skin and it has the side effect of rapid hair growth and nail growth and strengthening. It really works. Also, cutting your hair tips often is a good idea, but not every month! Good Luck!

Naturally, you can't grown wrong with Biotin. It is a vitamin, or supplement that you can take. It is supposed to be good for the hair, skin and nails. I have noticed great results taking it and I think you could find that in S. Africa. Good luck!

i don't think you can make your hair grow longer/faster (i've never tried those products and don't intend to). it's just natural, but it's best to eat a healthy balanced diet everyday so your hair gets all the nutrients

as for people who tell you to trim your hair once a month--it's good to get rid of split ends but trimming doesn't and will not make your hair grow faster

generally hair does grow a little faster in the summer

I am assuming that your hair is not growing. Are you eating a proper diet? My hair always grows a lot in the summer, mostly because I eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables (yes, I live in North America). I have found that extra virgin olive oil makes my hair grow and shine. I saute vegetables in it and eat it on my salad. Hope this helps!
