Vacations are great if you do them right. For the airport, you have to get in the mindset that everything you mention above may happen but it's worth it once you arrive at your destination. When you get where you're going, don't try to do too much. Hang out in a few locations, try not to pack too much into a trip. I love to take holidays and think that everything that happens is part of the story.....

Did you have a miserable vacation last time out??? My last two vacations were absolutely wonderful! Last fall, I stayed with some friends in Phoenix for a week...can't recall anything going wrong - had direct flights from Detroit to Phoenix and back. The plane ride out was so smooth and clear with a wonderful view (and I hate flying). We had a lot of good food, got to go to hockey and baseball games, etc. This past spring, I went to Florida by myself for 5 days to see spring training...best vacation ever, not a thing went wrong...just absolutely perfect. Perhaps you need to find new vacationing partners or find something/somewhere else to go.

Sounds like somebody had a bad vacation experience! Not everybody goes through that! Maybe you should do more research before you take your next hoilday or vacation or whatever it is you call it.

I don't have to travel, so I don't know your stress. Without the traveling, there is still a lot to do. I just like to get a good start on everything, so I can stop to enjoy myself.

I think the ones who are enjoying the holiday's are the ones staying closer to home, avoiding the traffic and long lines, etc.

i'm sorry if your experience has been like this. i'm going to vietnam in nov, can't wait. you have listed all the things that can go wrong, but is highly unlikely, esp if you are careful.
