Ask your soon to be mother inlaw if she has a special song... also ask what the songs were at her wedding... that would be really sweet if you "reused" a song from her wedding.

Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. It is absoloutly the BEST. Written about a parent/ child relationship and the separation that is inevitable but so beautiful...if you don't know it, at least give it a listen...it will grab ahold of your heart and wrench it.

I took my love, I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Till the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you get bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older too
Oh, take my love, take it down
Climb a mountain and turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down.

I am so glad that this is finally being done. It's always a father and daughter dance. It's about time the mother and son get a dance for them. Kudos to you!!

If the mother and son are close and he has a lot to thank he for then the best song is "The Perfect Fan" by the BackStreet Boyz!

"In Your Eyes"

In your Eyes I’d see
A special love for me
In your heart, the trust, you gave so easily
All that you inspired
Kept me reaching higher
In your eyes I’d see
The man I was meant to be

A dream came true when she said I do
You smiled at her - it was then I knew
That your blessing will be ours for all our lives
Your faith in us is shining in your eyes

and In your Eyes I see
That special love for me
In your heart the trust, you give so easily
All that you inspire
Keeps me reaching higher
In your eyes I see
The man I was meant to be

You gave me roots that run so deep
You gave me wings to fly
I’ve never thanked you half enough
As the years went flying by…..

Or.....

"The Man You've Become"

Big wheels, hot wheels
Little trucks and cars
Skinned knees, climbing trees
Wishing on the stars
Moments may be lost somewhere in time
But the sweetest memories are never left behind
Now you’ve grown so fine
And come so far…

CHORUS
I’m so proud of who you are
The man you’ve become
Thrilled to share your deepest joy
To know you’ve found the one
For the great things you will do
I’ll be blessed ‘cause you’re my son
But I’ll always see the boy
In the man you’ve become

School days, sleep-aways
Driving all alone
Phone calls, shopping malls
Late coming home
It was hard to know when to let you spread your wings
When to let you got to face the challenges life brings
But you’ve grown so fine
And come so far…

Peace, love your way. I hope this helps.
