I am a nursing mother, trying to loose about 15 lbs of baby weight. My problem is I am tired of drinking water! All I drink is water. I do not drink soda, I don't like crystal light, but I want to have more options. What other drinks can I drink that does not have tons of sugar(which I totally hate), and is not a flavored water? Please help......!!!!

i drink a lot of tea, decaf (and by the way the amount of caffiene in two cups of coffee is ok for you to have a day, i'm nursing also) if you make your own iced tea you can lightly sweeten it. but dont make sun tea, its doesnt get hot enough to kill all of the bacteria while it brewing. i also have a lot of smoothies, but if you get them at a smoothie place dont let them add any "enchancers" veg. juice is good also, or fruit juice. you could buy a juicer and make the best oj in the world. and why is everyone saying diet soda? you said you dont drink soda. and someone said that while you're nursing you'll keep the extra weight. not true, nursing helps you lose it. i gained 55 lbs, now i'm back to my regular weight, its been 7 months. if you eat more than the 5/600 extra calories you tack on for nursing, then you'll keep on the weight.

Be careful of aspartame (found in many artificial sweeteners).

Have you tried herbal teas that are low in cafeine? You can also look through the store for low sugared fruit juice concentrates.

You mention not drinking soda - do you not care for the fact that it is a carbonated beverage in general, or because of the sugar factor? Diet sodas are an option, but again, you must be careful of the artificial sweetener. There are many diet sodas available that are caffeine free.

Have you looked into the sugar levels of drinks such as V8 Splash, Apple/Cranberry/etc combinations?

Also look at Country Time lemonade mixes - located near the koolaid in most stores. Or even that, unsweetened koolaid - where you can control exactly how much sugar you add (you do not have to add as much as the package suggests) or opt to use Splenda instead of sugar. (Of course, clearing this with your peditrician first to make sure it is safe) - As a parent, I must admit that there are some really nice flavors of koolaid out there now. Personally, I like the blue lemonade.

The problem is, as long as you're still nursing, you will (most likely) maintain that extra weight. This is not a bad thing! Your body still needs that extra fat for burning while producing milk for your baby.

Once you ween your baby (and I hope you don't feel the need to rush this just to lose weight) you'll more than likely shed the extra pounds quicker than you realize.

Good Luck!

I like the Minute Maid Light lemonade. It has artificial sweetener but it doesn't have that "diet" taste.

Another thing I like to do is make a pitcher of chamomile mint tea and add sugar or honey to taste. It's refreshing, and you can control the amount of sweetener.

Ice tea with Splenda tastes just like sugar sweetened tea to me. Sometimes I keep a pitcher of that around.

Try water with lemon in it-it is not bad at all the more sugar you add the more sour it becomes!!-Only water and lemon! You might like green tea as well both are good to help you lose weight!!

Get a juicer, or a chopper and make fresh juices. You can also use a puree setting to make baby food which will be healthier & much cheaper.

Try not to drink 'diet' drinks as they have something called aspartime in them, which isn't very good for you.Why dont you try fruit smoothies or fruit juice?
