Many people claim to be 100% certain that their God exists. For those who would say that, what experiences did you have, or what logical arguments did you hear, that led you to such certainty?

Without going into over a decade's worth of detail, I have seen prophecies fulfilled, science humbled by prayer, felt the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, had impossible prayers answered, communicated with God, had a vision, seen miracles, been healed, had bills paid on time without any money available, had enough food for 11 people when there was barely enough in the cupboards to feed two, the gift of languages comes easy to me, I have increased dramatically in wisdom, among a great many other things.

All because of the grace of God.

Mind you, I was once an atheist, and *knew* way back then that the things I have experienced were impossible. How is it that 11 people can be fed on a quarter-box of macaroni noodles, and a quarter jar of spaghetti sauce? Logically, it can't (seeing as to how both of my sons, being mere toddlers at the time, could eat that themselves). But somehow, God made it last, and it was more than enough to fill-up my family, and my aunt-in-law's family who came to live with us.

How strange is it, that I, having been once like you, cannot explain the things I know. It defies logic, it defies reason, it defies empirical evidence. Yet... it is truth.

...I had always been happy and secure at home - I felt safe in my surroundings. We attended several churches when I was a kid.
...As a teen, I kind of went wild, being very rebellious and hard to live with. The "friends" I had smoked cigarettes, drank alcohol, and did drugs. I joined in and dropped out of church for a couple of years.
...After high school, friends departed for college and home life was not too happy - I felt alone and without direction, so I began to read the Bible. I found principles and things I wanted in my life, but I couldn't do them. An old friend of ours, a pastor, and I talked one day. I told him I was not happy, and he asked if I was a Christian. I told him I thought I was, and that a Christian was one who tried to follow the teachings of Jesus. He told that to be a Christian, there was more to it - that Christ must be in your heart - he ask me if I had ever trusted in Jesus, he told me how I could, and I trusted Jesus that day.
...I believed on Jesus, began to read the Bible, and after a few years, I wrestled with some of those tough questions the "asker" is talking about. Our church offered training in many of those type of questions. I recieved many satisfactory answers to tough questions skeptics ask about the Christian faith. He could read "Answers to Touch Questions" and "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by John McDowell. Here is a web-site that could be useful: http://faithfacts.gospelcom.net/index.html
...As to whether God exists:
1. Who/what caused such a radical change in me?
2. Look at the world around us - evidence of God is shown to us through creation (Romans 1:20).
3. We have internal evidence also - there is an inborn sense of right and wrong (Romans 2).

God has been with me since I was a child. But when I was about 21, I was crying out to him because of a situtation in my life that was too big for me to handle and He came in. The Holy Spirit came into my room and comforted me. He turned my tears into joy and even left evidence that he was there. He gave me the gift of tongues. Ever since that day I have no doubt that He is real. He's been with me everyday since then. I don't have to do anything. I let Him do it all.

Many people will think I'm crazy. I am crazy. I am crazy about Jesus. Until you have a personal experience with him you will never know how real he is. Just put pride aside, go to him in humility and sincerity of heart and he will touch you too. Don't be afraid. It's the best thing you'll ever do!

Many people beleive for different reasons. Some beleive just because they were taught they HAD to. Others because they feel
that something they have read is true. And yet others like myself beleive because so many life experiences have shown us that there HAS to be a creator and maintainer of life. I have also doubted many times because of perceived injustices I have seen, but deep down inside I know that this Master of the Universe has a reason for EVERYTHING. I also choose to beleive because my logic tells me that this World and everything in it did not JUST appear. I mean it did, but the"Big Bang", in my opinion, was created by a superior and only force. Can we prove it? I don't know, but what I do know is that we cannot DISPROVE it. Now thats the truth!

Good answer, Poetic. You're absolutely right. He put something in me that made me want to seek Him, every since I was a child. I've always believed on Him and I wanted to Know him. At first, I was only acquainted with Him. Now I have a relationship with Him. There's a big difference. It's like meeting a new mate. How can you get to know them if you don't spend any time with them. Reading His Word and Prayer is the best way to know Him. I believe in Him whole heartily.

The Holy Spirit. I felt the presence of God, I accepted His gift of eternal salvation by saying a simple prayer. As a girl of 13, I prayed for the salvation of my family. I ran home and immediately told my younger siblings and they accepted Christ. My parents were another story. I prayed to God for the salvation of my parents. We had an unhappy family and even I knew we were in desperate need of God. I would leave tracts on my dad's dresser only to find them crumbled. I continued to pray. The Lord placed a Godly man in my dad's path. He accepted the Lord/became born-again about two years later. Today, for the glory of God, my father is the spiritual leader of our family. Praise God! He is a Spirit filled, Bible carrying, tract passing, soul winning Christian. I am so blessed! That's just one of the many, many blessings I've seen since becoming a Christian 23 yrs now.

My marriage was on the rocks. I had fallen away from the faith for years and I began going to church and praying. I was as self centered, critical prick whose life and marriage was falling apart. One day I went to an evangelical gathering and what the speaker was saying moved me to the point of giving my heart to Jesus there and then. 12months later I was baptised with my wife and daughter. We couldn't be happier and our marriage is blooming. We now attend church regularly as a family and attend bible study. God has worked many wonderful things in our lives. Praise the Lord!!!!!

while inside the 4 walls of my exclusive church, they used experience and proof of healings of things that naturally healed themselves as answers to prayer, as if I could actually pray and a great big cosmic God would actually take time out and fix my little selfish requests

in retrospect, many of the miracles were the leg lengthening and back pain tricks of attention and slight of hand, smacks on forehead (Hunters famous for it) and falling back under power of God but being hit by a person

When I watch the sunset in the morning or when I found out that my cousin had a brain tumor and when she went in for a pre-surgery scan it was gone. I know that sometimes in life things are the way they are just because that is life but, you have to know that God is real when you see the miracles that occur.

Well, I constantly rally against God for everything bad which happens in life. How can you be angry with him and not believe he exists at the same time ?
